A friendly character can be TKed 8 squares. But which character are these 8 squares drawn from? If I have a Hal Jordan 5 squares in front of a Thorbuster, can the Thorbuster be TKed 8 squares starting at Hal Jordan or does line of fire begin at Thorbuster? So, can my Thorbuster be moved a total of 14 squares, 5 from where he is plus 8 for TK from where Hal is? Basically, do the 5 squares my Thorbuster needs to go to reach Hal count as part of the 8 squares for TK? Thanks!! I hope this isn't confusing.
TXXXXH Thorbuster 5 squares behind Hal
XXXXXHXXXXXXXT Thorbuster TKed 8 squares past Hal
XXXXXHXT Thorbuster TKed within an 8 square radius of himself
Which is legal?

thorbuster can be moved a maximum of 8 squares, and cannot end up more than 8 squares from Green Lantern.
Remember your Three Crazy 8's:
The target must be within 8 squares, and line of fire from the TK'er,
The target can be moved up to 8 squares from where it started,
And the target must end within 8 squares, and line of fire from the TK'er.
The target can't move more than 8 squares from where it started, and must end within 8 squares of the TK'er.
jak7890 is correct. I'll only add the weirdness that is not in the crazy 8s - the moved figure does not need to stay within 8 squares at all times. Instead, it can move outside those 8 squares, as long as the place it begins and ends are both 8 squares. Here's a scenario:
. . . . . . . . . .
T . . . . . . 8 . .
. . . . . . . . 7 .
. . . . . . . .|B|6
. . . . . . . .|B|5
. . . . . . . .|B|4
. . . . . . . .|B|3
. . . . . . . X|B|2
. . . . . . . .|B|1
. . . . . . X . 0 .
T is the TKer and he wants to move a character in square 0 to be more out in the open. However, there are 2 opposing characters (X) nearby. If he were to move more directly towards him, 0 would have to stop when based by X. Instead, T can move following the numbered path along the right side of the walls and B for Blocking terrain. That path is mostly 9 squares away from T, but he ends up within 8 of T, so it's all good.
