LEX LUTHOR
Since childhood, Lex Luthor refused to let anything stand between him and what he desired. Though born to wealth and status, Luthor wanted always wanted more, building a path to power paved with suspicions, accusations, and corpses. In the Blackest Night, Luthor refused to aid past allies and strived only to save himself and what belonged to him–proving himself the perfect candidate for a greed-fueled orange power ring!
The DC HeroClix Blackest Night Starter Game will be in comic and hobby stores on May 12, 2010. The Starter Game includes everything you need to play HeroClix: seven HeroClix figures, the 2010 HeroClix Rulebook, a map (The Oan Sciencells) and more – reserve your copy at your local retailer!

I would like to remind everyone that this is a digital sculpt not the actual plastic sculpt that we will see in our hands in May. Hopefully the transition goes well.

With every new picture I see, I can't help but think 1 thing: I am so glad I don't have to mod these!

I think the sculpt will translate well. I just think we are not going to get the detail in the eyes. We are just going to get 2 dots. Oh well another amazing one Ben my favorite thus far.

Again, another awesome sculpt. My anticipation for WW/Scarecrow is killing me though.

Whoa, man these sculpts do look amazing i just hope the subsequent clix look at least half as awesome. Can you imagine if they look just like this. Damn, I want this set more and more. Now i need dial info. My only problem is that they are starter set clix and may turn out to be not that powerful. Which would suck.

Cant Wait For Scarecrow!!
If they're going by colour order (Hal aside), Scarecrow should be next (hope so!), followed by Hope Flash, then Tribal Atom, Then Wonder Woman. Then maybe the Mystery 8th?

Is it just me, or does he remind you guys of a translucent orange Darth Vader when Luke takes his helmet off at the end?
OH MY GOD! I'm definitely going to get more than one of this starter!!!

OK, that Lex is as badass as I wanted him to be! I just hope the dials live up to the sculpts, because these look great so far!

It still looks great, but yeah I think I'm going to try to tone down my excitement over these previews because its not actual product. I would prefer it if they showed us actual product instead of these digital sculpts. Let's see how they actually turn out instead of what they are supposed to look like. The digital sculpt looks awesome and if it turns out looking the same (or close enough) I will be a very happy camper, but if the actual product looks like a bizarro version I will probably never get excited about another preview again.
Also, please give us dials!!! or at least character cards! :p

I WANT HIM NOW!!! HE IS GOING TO BE MINE AND ONLY MINE. I WILL FIND ALL OF YOU WHO BUY THIS SET AND BURN YOURS. HE'S MINE! HE'S MINE! HE'S MINE!
NECA is a good thing.
Looks like he will be fun...after the puking Mera, I half expected a Lex punching a baby in the face for its sucker. :p
Looks like it will be good, but good point mentioned that this isnt the real plastic...These are not gonna translate that good looking, but think maybe the detail that was on the The Mighty Thor from Supernova, he still had some good detail on him and thats what I'd expect I think.
Best looking preview so far. These are awesome!

Is it just me or does lex look like he Darth Vader(Return of the jedi) with a the helmet. All you need to do is paint his suit black.
maybe is just me.... I don't Know.
But nice sculpt, I hope the actuall sculpt will be just as good in my hands.

Holy Carp! I am loving all the sculpts so far. it is quickly becoming my #! must have!!!! rep to you...
I think that (paint job aside) the sculpts should look pretty close to this. I have seen products (albeit from other companies) produced with digital sculpting techniques and they are always incredible.
This set is going to sell out fast. The non-clixers will be buying this up almost as quick as we will.
Very nice. Much better than that horrid Mera sculpt. 2 out of 3 good ones so far!
What?!
lmao that Mera sculpt is bomb! A bit of an unusual idea, I'll admit, but its built well.
Plus c'mon. For a little piece of plastic, she's totally got a swimmers butt. ;)

We get this guy before we get an actual Larfleeze.
I'm not complaining, I'm just remarking on information that makes little sense to me and is disappointing.
Still, he looks cool.
The player in me wants to get all of them and never mod them because they all look so good.
The mod in me says do it mod them HA HA HA HA!!!

Perhpas that comment should be directed at Topps then, as I'm fairly certain were it not for the hiatus we would probably have seen Larfleeze by now...

I know in another thread there is a discussion about digital sculpting and about how the final products may or may not come out as good. The reality of it, is at the end of the day, these things are still mass produced for mass consumption (so to speak). However, if the final over-seas production process makes a product that's still half as good as this I have a feeling we're going to see a quality that shoots above the last few years of the game (excluding of course the year hiatus).
Here's hoping Flash is tomorrow. Can't wait to see him!!
I dont think it makes much sense to put Larfleeze in a starter. Ideally if they make him, he's around 300 points or more; he's supposed to be an entire corps in and of himself.

Yeah. That pretty much sums up my view as well.
The character that I was most looking forward to from the set doesn't disappoint me, and with the already solid Green Lantern I am next looking towards the Flash.
But given how these first figures looked, I have no reason to believe that the Flash will be anything on the bad side of average, or even just average. :)

Triple agreed. No starter should confine Larfleeze!

these new sculpts are all mind bottling!
WOW. Hal, Mera, and Luthor all look fantastic, I'm going to be displaying these pieces when I'm not using them. I really hope they continue with the colors in order, as getting Scarecrow next would be great!

You do realize that if Larfleeze is in BatB, we'll get him before Lex? We're just getting the pictures from the starter much earlier is all.
I've seen posts like this one (Mera before Atrocitus, Lex before Larfleeze, etc.) for a while now. Shouldn't we wait until we know what's in BatB before we make these assertions?

You do realize that if Larfleeze is in BatB, we'll get him before Lex?
I have my doubts about that happening, but I would be happy to be wrong.
I still think that at the time NECA green-lighted HoT and Brave & the Bold, they hadn't yet gotten into the creation of new stuff and were simply OKing the things that had been designed prior to the original Wizkids shut-down. If so, then Larfleeze or any of the rainbow lanterns would be very unlikely.
If I am correct, then the Blackest Night starter will be the first pieces actually planned, designed, and sculpted completely under the new owners.
Even if I am correct, though, Blackest Night characters would be a shoe-in for DC's next expansion. At the worst, we'd probably have to wait no more than another year. That's chump change compared to the wait a lot of us have had for classic characters we've been calling for since the game first launched.

Holy cow. Greatest figure in the game. Right there. I don't even care about the dial. If it looks half that good its going on my desk.
Then they can make one about 10 times bigger.

I'm still guessing that we are going to see Larfleeze done outside in one of two things:
1) An action pack
2) A 'big' figure - like the Queen Alien

Thank You NECA for a very nice sculp & scale of the figure...im looking forward seeing some new figures from marvel...if by any chance you are reading or stamble to read some post in this thread.....I WANT A NEW HULKBUSTER....PLSSSSSSSSSSS.........

Just the images from the program I believe, not actual production proofs.

Yup, you are correct. These are the virtual images. When the figures are produced by the Chinese factories and then carefully painted the finished product that we'll be purchasing will look a lot more like this...
