Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought Firelord was a villian. The only reason I ask is, the next tourney where I play is going to be a Marvel heroes Vs. Villians tourney. The deal is that the judge is gonna let you know ahead of time if your a hero or villian. And the first thing our taxi Firelord team player asked (c'mon what's a tourney without a cheap taxi Firelord team) is if Firelord is a hero or villian? The judge said he could go either way.
Now, the only reason I wanna see Firelord as a villian is because I'd love to see what this kid would come up with if he had to make a hero team. I mean I've never seen this kid use a team with less than 2 Firelord's on it. Ok I'd better stop before this turns into another Firelord rant. (which I'm quite good at by the way)

the Judge is right. He has been both and is considered neutral by most people.

Firelord is a character who is more or less beyond good and evil just like the entity he has served. My first recollection of Firelord is in Amazing Spiderman 169-170. He shows up in Manhattan. He is willing to kill some guy for bumping into him. Firelord is very arrogant and egotistical. Spiderman came to the guys aid only to iritate Firelord. Spidey did all he could to stay ahead of the herald while he also tried to get reinforcements from anyone (Avengers, X-men, Fantastic Four and so on with out any luck. Ultimately he hid in a building that was abandoned but didnt realize two kids were playing in it. When Spidey just barely saved them he realized he couldn't take chances with this guy any longer and used a gas station as a target to draw Firelord fire. Counting on the blast affecting Firelord. Spidey went all out in anger pounding on Firelord and knocked him unconsious. Just then the Avengers arrived.

Firelord was seen in the Avengers mansion for nearly a year afterwards and took a lot of advice from Starfox and Thor amongst others and learned a lot about himself and seemed to be a little more compassionate. He still showcased a horrendous temper on oocassion. He has worked in the capacity of good and would probably do so most of the time.

Firelord doesn't seem incredibly suave so he could be manipulated fairly easily by say a master manipulator like Doom, the Red Skull or someone like that. - Terrence

I was also told that Firelord only came to get one thing. New York Style Pizza.

He was a tourist... in New York... and you know Firelord wasn't really being arrogant at first.... he probably accidentally bumped into the New Yorker... and the New Yorker probably told Firelord to take his flaming Q-tip... well you get the idea....

The Spiderman came after the fact and attacked Firelord.

I'm sure that Firelord ignored Silver Surfer's advice to just have the pizza delivered.

Hey!! Being a 28 year New Yorker I resent that comment. I am a former New Yorker but I'm kidding and really NYC Pizza is the best. The bagels are better there too.- T

I think Firelord tended to be more dangerous early in his career. I stopped buying comics in the mid-nineties, but by then Firelord had teamed up with Silver Surfer a few times for good causes. Of course, Silver Surfer has had to trounce him more than once, too. So yeah, he could go either way. He's not evil so much as inconsiderate of things outside his own agenda. He's an enormously powerful being who isn't always willing to tone things down for the sake of weaker folks.

You could rule on r/e/v's.

Firelord R - Evil
Firelord E - Either
Firelord V - Hero

The way some clix-ers play F-Lord, you would think he's a villian :)

The way some players whine and cry about Firelord, you'd think they needed a hero.

In his first apperence Thor #225 he is a Hearold of Galactics but in later issues, after he is freed, he teams with Thor and Herc. In Uncanny X-Men #105 he fights with Phoenix but in the next issue, after the X-Men are taken to a different galaxy, he stays behind to protect Professor X and Jean Grey's parents untill the X-Men return. He also helps fight Thanos in the Infinity Gantlet series. So he is basicly like almost every other hero and can be good or bad depending on the situation, if I would have to choose one I would say he is a hero, at least that is how we used him in our hero vs. villian games.

Zaymac25 - I know I think we should only be allowed to play figs that are clearly marked with Team abilities. If Cheeselord is allowed to be a Villian or Good Guy then he will show up on all teams. Who are you anyways? You must play at Excellent Adventures? Send me an e-mail.
