need help with building a team for a scenario

heres the sceneario

Iron Man Match: 800pts, 4 actions per turn. 3 iron man rounds. Can you survive?
Support cannot be used. It may appear on a characters dial however its ignored.
Also any special powers that heal other characters are ignored and can't be
used. Damage dealt to a character STAYS with that character into the following
round. Once a character is KOd they are removed from the game for the duration
of the tournament.

who do i use in the and how do i use them. please help

I would play 800 points of fire demons with Son of Surtur and ragnarok because I havent done it yet. The son of surturs special power is the main thing i would want to play on the entire team.

I'm not a big fan of Colossus, and as much as I love Adaptoid (seriously), I think you could better spend the 301 pts. JL Luthor would be a solid grab, as he can dump the damage to Swamp Thing. You could even throw in R Grundy for more soaking up. Assuming you did that, you'd have 92 pts left. Connor Green Arrow with Trick Shot would be solid.

Looking closer...Dragon Man is going to get slaughtered in an 800 pt game. I'd drop him (giving you 132 points because of leftovers) in favour of R Invisible Girl (CT), HoT Cap and a Gotham Detective. One point under and much more to work with.

Out of curiosity, where does Regen and Steal Energy stand in this tournament? If those are still allowed, you could make some beastly teams.

Sounds like while support is banned, regeneration is not?

If so, Apocalypse works great in this scenario with fortitude, camouflage and auto-regen. Plenty of good mutant support out there to help out. Past and ruler are trickier but not impossible.

i dont have half of those pieces tho and how do i stay alive long enough to get past the 1st round? after a piece is ko'ed its out of the game for the next 2 rounds. so what do i do there?

Hrm, a team based on the alt-FF team ability might work...especially with new thing and reed. There's enough pieces (with the FF TA) to cause chaos and the Power Pack sporting a 19-20 defense just screams annoying.

R Blackfire could merit some success in this tournament for a mere 48 points. Nice Running Shot base 4 damage to start. She's not what you'd build the team around, but still could grief some key pieces as a third string attacker.

Again, I don't know what the ruling is on Regen or Steal Energy because that would change the dynamic incredibly. Then again, I'm not 100% sold on this style of tournament, simply because you could end up in the second round with 112 points against 580. I don't care how you cut that, you're screwed.

since you won't be able to do any sort of healing, my best bet would be to include hard to hit figures (high DV's, stealth, shape change, super senses, impervious)
if you really want to get devious, include figures like the new venom that have super senses AND shape change
