Hi all.

Its been a while since Ive done a comics related TOC, so I thought Id make use of the Power Scale Lists that we ALL had a hand in making, and set something up for us all to debate and participate in.

Pretty simple idea, 2 combatants engage one another on a completely neutral, planet-side, battlefield (ala Battleworld from Secret Wars) to Clash against one another, each winner (decided by your votes) moving on to the next Round, which finally a Grand Champion is crowned.

I give you this first of many matches to come:

ALLEN THE ALIEN (Original Form) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_the_Alien)

vs.

ERADICATOR (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eradicator_%28comics%29)

So, lets hear from you all on which of these two you think would win, and is deserving to move one step closer to our Final Match of the H-SHW Level TOC!!

Results

Sinestro vs. Thor: Thor leads (10 - 1)
Beta Ray Bill vs. Wonder Woman: Beta Ray Bill leads (7 - 2)
Kurse (2X Thor) vs. Legion: Legion leads (5 - 1)

Im still not sure why Allen in his original form is a H-SHW, as Im pretty sure his first appearance he lost to Invincible (a L to M-SHW). That being the case, and Eradicator being a near-Superman-clone with energy blasts, Im heavily leaning towards him now.

Yeah, I don't know Allen that well, but the Eradicator is a heck of an opponent. Allen doesn't strike me as being quite in his league. I'll case a vote for Eradicator.

From what I'm reading on their Wiki pages, I get the impression that Eradicator is like Allen, just...more so. Or, if I look at it the opposite way, Allen comes off as 'Eradicator lite'.

I vote Eradicator.

Um...no.

Allen was winning and then they stopped the fight when they realized it was a case of mistaken identity. And Allen wasn't even trying there.

The reaosn Allen has this restriction is that I felt (and others agreed) that current Allen is above H-SHW. He takes on multiple Superman level characters at the same time (all of which don't have Superman's restraint) and he wins. To me, that version is too powerful to be here.

However, I agree that this version may be over ranked and should probably be a M-SHW.

If this was a later version of Allen I would vote for him but since he has been neutered I vote for Eradicator.

OK, that all makes sense. So you saying this Allen fits better as a M-SHW, is that a vote for Eradicator to beat him here?

Any other votes on this or any of the previous 3 matches?

I'll vote Eradicator too. He's more versatile, and Allen's not yet strong enough to overcome that.

It's okay. After Eradicator kills Allen, he'll come back and win the rematch. That's how it works. :p

Eradicator is one of the worst names of all time. That has nothing to do with this match of course but the name is so awful I feel that it is worth noting.

As to the match Allen can take on Viltromites (sp?) and survive, he is one tough son of a gun and as the moustachiod aliens are basically Superman with a bad attitude, I think that pretty much proves that he can take down this superman with a bad attitude.

I think Allen The Alien wins this a lot more than he doesn't.

Eh, from what Ive seen I dont think Allen would be able to defeat Omni-Man, or a Superman-level Vultrimite. Not all Vultrimites (just like not all Krytpnians) are "Superman", they may be similiar to him physically, but Superman is SUPERMAN for many other reasons.

Heck, even Magnito (Who still has yet to actually vote), Allen's biggest supporter, states that he should be a M-SHW over a H-SHW here.

The thing is, we've never really seen Allen fight a Vultrimite in this form. He beat Invincible, but that is when Mark was still a Rookie.

Next time we see him fight Vultrimites, it is a three-on-one and they kill him. So, can he take a single Vultrimite? Jury is still out on that one. I'd say maybe.

Allen is still no push over in this. Even as a M-SHW, he would be in the top tear (IMO), in the same league as Wonder Woman.

Im no expert on Invincible, but I do remember Allen's first meeting with him, and Im sure overall it was a good, fairly close, fight, no? That being the case, and that Invincible was a rookie then, I just cant see Allen taking down a near Superman level (and I dont just mean Kryptonian, I mean "Superman") foe.

I haven't read it in a while but wasn't Allen not even trying to kill Invincible? I seem to remember him stating that he was holding back at some point.

Also, is this version is underrated, why not bump him up? I for one don't think Allen would be a S-SHW.

Im pretty sure we have another, more current, version of Allen as a S-SHW (least I believe we do).

Also true. Allen was there just to test Invincible and was considering it a friendly fight. He wasn't trying at all.

Invincible was taking the fight seriously.

Also, I think Invincible is probably underrated as a L-SHW. I see him more as a mid.
