Hi everyone,
I am looking to start playing this game and had a few questions about getting started.
#1- I am a big fan of the Fantastic 4, so I am most interested in buying boosters from Clobberin' Time. My question is will I be able to field a decent team from Clobberin' Time? and will I have everything I need to get started playing if I buy a booster box from (12 packs) from CT? Or will I also need to buy a good amount of Infinity Challenge as well?

#2-How do I decipher the rarity values and what comes in the packs? (I am trying to estimate what I can expect from buying 12 booster packs).

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

1) Yes, you can field a decent team out of 12 boosters of any set.

2) You can see the rarities in the checklist on WK's site.

You won't get "Everything you need to start playing" though. The Starter kits have the maps, the object tokens, the barrier/rubble tiles, and the rules. You could download the rules from the Wizkids site, but unless you want to find a custom map online and print that out to play with it, you'd need the starter set.

Uniques are inserted in an AVERAGE of 1 in 6 boosters. The breakdown for a CT pack is like this (from what I have read):

top
Rarity 1, 2, or 3
Rarity 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (could be anything)
Rarity 3, 4, or 5 (the slot where the unique could be)
Rarity 2, 3, or 4

In CT, I believe the uniques are in a blue holder. I don't remember what color they were in IC.

As Fogs said, you may need the contents of a starter to play (unless you have friends that stuff).

Even if you need that stuff, do not go out and buy a starter.
Tryt to locate a Judge/Envoy in your area. Most of them will probably have extras of that stuff that they can get into your hands. I know I have goobs of Marvel and DC starter stuff left over from my Judge point redemption.

This will also allow you the opportunity to get to know some of the fellow gamers in your area.

To find a Judge in your area, go to WizKids Site. There is a proximity search engine under their volunteer page:

Just cut and paste. It should do the trick.
