View Full Version : Clix vs. Comix 2 (151-185): Colossus vs. Immortus
I was playing Heroclix the one day and I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same amount of points. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.
That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!
Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies and their character cards (if the figure does not have a card, assume there was a custom one made). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig).
Colossus - 158 (Mutations and Monsters)
vs.
Immortus - 157 (Secret Invasion)
Terrain:
Swamp: This dark and dreary swamp has very little light, but a lot of murky water. Old decaying trees have toppled over and are sticking out of the muck.
Round 1
Captain Marvel, Jr. vs. Ultra-Humanite: Captain Marvel, Jr. leads (6-0)
Colossus vs. Immortus: ???%3

(Damage) Fastball Special: Colossus can use Telekinesis, but only Option 3. When using Telekinesis, Colossus can treat any adjacent friendly character that has a point value more than 30 and the Starburst damage symbol as if it were a light object. but the character is not destroyed in the attack. After the attack is resolved, modify the character's attack value and damage value by -2 until the end of the turn, deal it 1 unavoidable damage, and place it in the square nearest to the target to which Colossus has a clear line of fire. If the square is not adjacent to the target, deal the character 1 additional unavoidable damage.

What does Immortus do besides travel through time and not die?
He does have energy blasts and immortality at the least, though it's hard to find a place that lists specifically his Immortus powers, as opposed to his Kang ones.
Lesse, Marvel.com says he can teleport, control energy, and induce illusions in people's minds.
Trap Colossus in a time loop is probably the most humane way Rama-Tut's future self can deal with Piotr. Immortus takes this.

Yeah, I don't think poor Colossus is ever going to get the chance to get anywhere near Immortus. Immortus FTW
Sure, I'll vote Immortus too.
Why not, Immortus for the win.
So "I'll freeze him in time" works for Immortus but not for Time Trapper? :cheeky:
Good point, pull my vote for Immortus for now.
So "I'll freeze him in time" works for Immortus but not for Time Trapper? :cheeky:
Wasn't the problem for Time Trapper, that the trick wouldn't work on his foe or something of the sort? Not that he couldn't use it, just that it wouldn't matter or affect the opponent, Pluto.
Colossus is a lot of things, as powerful as Pluto is not one of them.
The argument was that freezing him in time didn't count as an incapacitation (don't ask me why, I don't remember). The secondary argument was that because this didn't count as incapacitation none of Trapper's other attacks were powerful enough to take out Pluto (a point I still roll my eyes at considering The Great Darkness Saga Darkseid wouldn't mess with the Time Trapper and I'd take that version of Darkseid over Pluto every single time, but that's not the point here  ).
So I see a similar situation here. If freezing him in time doesn't count as an incap (presuming precedence with the TT/Pluto fight) the question becomes does Immortus actually have the ability to take out Colossus.
Ah yes, TT was fighting Pluto at that time, an immortal S-SHW to me, thats probably why I didnt necessary buy him simply being stuck in time (especially since there have been several TTs, apparently with differing power levels). Colossus is a pretty straight forward brick, one I think Immortus can handle more than not, so my vote goes back to him.

Even without the Freezing in Time trick, Immortus had other weapons at his disposal. Someone whom the entire Avengers team has problems with should be able to deal with a single X-Man, even ine of the more powerful.

I agree w/Gargantua. Immortus for an easy win.
Yes, even if the Time loop thing doesn't work, Immortus deals with/fights the Avengers. Colossus is not on his scale.
