My daughter used Sinestro in a tournament I ran last week. She did pretty good, but when she was done, Sinestro was missing a piece. I traded my good one for herres and decided to mod the broken one.
I removed the bolt quiver (it was broken off already) and lightning bolt in hand and replaced with sword. The thumb and fingers were seperated so the hand can hold different weapons (if I find any I like better). The sword came from a random action figure I found in the clearance table at my local comic book store.
I then removed the Sinestro figure from chest and mounted on flying base. I cut the top off of a flying stand to mount the base on. Sinestro can be removed from the construct's stand and made into a seperate figure.
What do ya' think?

Excellant! I expect to see Sinestro as the GL LE mail in.

I certainly hope the LE isn't Sinestro. I really want it to be one of the lesser Green Lanterns like John Stewart, Kilowog, or Ch'p. However I just got a great idea for the next DC big fig. Mogo, the living planet!!!

unless both companies employ a living planet, I think that the living planet belongs to Marvel and not D.C.
By the way joeg1701 very nice I really like it. I tried, but I couldn't tell. Did you remove the sinestro from inside tall dark and yellow or is he still in there and the one at the base a repaint?

Yes I removed the figure from inside the construct (I'm still working on my painting skills, so I haven't done any repaints yet!)

Marvel has Ego, the Living Planet.
DC had one member of the Green Lantern Corps who was, in fact, a planet. (Remember they had a lot of crazy aliens in there.)
Nice job Joe.
How did you get the Sinestro figure out w/o ruining the big fig?
I have looked at mine, and it looked kinda risky. I was afraid
I would crack it or worse if I tried to free ol' red skin.
Also, were did you get your 3D terrain that shows in some of
your pics. It looks like a nice McDonalds or something.
Thanks and skippin good job!

I used a sharp hobby knife and slid it between the belt and the chest plate (The top peice joins to the bottom behind the belt) all the way around the waist. When it was as loose as it was going to get, I carefully worked the top part loose. The top part did crack a little in the back, but it was behind the belt and can't be seen when he's glued back together.
My biggest problem was getting the Sinestro figure off of the constuct's lower body...when he popped off he flew under the table and took me a good 10 minutes to find (not wanting to spend $20 to tear apart another one).
I have more pictures of the McDonalds in another post...I'd like to say I built it, but it was store bought and modified for use as 3-D terrain.

Fantastic Idea! I'm running out to get another sinestro to do the same. Where did you get the sword? It looks like it could have been made for the original.

They used Hal in the ad mentioning the LE in PREVIEWS.
That is an EXCELLENT modification, man. I love the way the position of the arm seems to give the pike its weight. Very nice.

The sword I got from a "Realm of the Claw" action figure I found on sale at Toys R Us. I don't remember the name of the figure, but the one I picked has 2 identical swords (in case I messed up one).
I painted the sword a few coats of Gloss Yellow spray paint, and added a clear sealer coat.
