I only play DC and marvel clix. No mechwarrior, mageknight, and no warhammer. I only do this cuz i don't have any intrest in any of the other of the games, and i only like clix cuz i'm a long time fan of comics, so lets hear reasons of people who only play HC or people who play everything!!!

I play HC and Mage Knights: Dungeuns. Dungeuons is a great fast pace game that is second only to the great Hero Clix. Its relly not that expensive to get into considering it dosent come out with expantions very often. The main reason that i play it however is that i can do it for free because i just use my reward points from being a wk envoy( juge, warlord) to get packs and what not.

Like you, I collect only Marvel & DC Heroclix. I do have about a dozen MK figures that I got for Christmas.

It's simple economics more than desire, though. I can barely afford to support one game habit, so Heroclix is my game of choice. If I had unlimited disposable income, and the time to play, I would probably try more games. Heroclix happened along at the right time to fill the void left by the discontinuance of my other favorite game, 7th Sea (Arr, pirates be about the only thing as cool as superheroes.), which in turn filled the void left when I got tired of Magic.

I only play Heroclix. Marvel and DC clix keep my game funds pretty well depleted, so I can't afford to even try MW, which my best friend says is a great game. I have collected comics for almost 30 years, and loved superheroes even longer. This game is great! The best part is my oldest son, who is 5, likes it already.

I started out with Warhammer 40K and liked the game but I ran into 2 problems. I spent way more time painting than playing and it doesn't sell well in the area I moved to, and I couldn't find other players.

A friend tried to get me into Mage Knight, and I'm not really into Fantasy stuff, but when HeroClix came out it definately piqued my interest. I was a big comic fan anyway, and the game was priced right and easy to learn. I started playing and collecting, and even got sponsored and started running tournaments.

I bought a little bit of MWDA, but between getting incredibly lousy pulls and a number of broken figures, I ended up giving up on it.

So right now it's Heroclix or nuthin'! although, Crimson SKies has piqued my interest....

I am a gameing junkie.

I play warhammer, warhammer 40k, gorkamorka, heroclix marvel/dc, and several roleplaying games that most of you probley haven't heard of. I spend a stupid amount of money on gameing. I have been recently trying to get my freinds into playing mechwarrior but so far I haven't had any luck. This is a shame because mechs are pretty.

Clix only (well, a little old-fashioned D&D sometimes, but no other "Collectable" type game).
Why?
One addiction is enough, and I wouldn't even be into the HC if it weren't comics-based.
'nuff said.

When it comes to gaming, here's my history:

1. Got into Magic: The Gathering. It was fun, but got irritating with errata and such.

2. Dropped Magic for Overpower. I still collect the cards, but stopped playing.

3. Pokemon. I could care less what age group plays it or what people think of it, it's a blast to me!

4. HeroClix is the only game I play now. Mainly for the comics, mostly for the fun.

i only play heroclix for two reasons
i got in originally because i liked comics and thought i looked fun.
i have become interested in other games but i really dont have enough money to start another game. because of the interest in comics and lack of money i will never start another game.

I did heroclix cause it looked neat, also cuz pokemon cards died down and became unpopular.

Clix full time, first and only miniature game for me.However I used to play DBZ CCG but not enough people to play against so clix are the way to go in my town.

I was into Mage Knight for a while, and I still have over 100 pieces. I walked into the comic shop one day and saw the LE Spidey figure in the case. My friend Clint told me all about it, because I had no clue as to a comic game. So he hooked me up with a DC Premier set and a Marvel IC booster for free, and I've been hooked ever since.

First of all, I am a comics fan first. But not just any comics fan, a Marvel comics fan. I have never bought a single DC comic in my life and my entire knowledge of the DC universe comes from Batman/Superman animated series and movies. I am completely devoted to Marvel, I even bought stock in the company(which has gone up due to Daredevil's sucess :)

Basically, if I find 7 bucks worth of change in my car, I am going to buy 2 comic books and not a booster pack. Hero Clix is great though. It just feels better to open up a pack of Clix vs a pack of collectible cards. It feels like you're actually getting something more than a laminated piece of cardboard. I'll keep playing as long as wizkids keeps making them.

I only play clix and its one of the only table top games Ive ever played (I played Magic for about a month and warhammer, miniatures not the card game, but it was only twice and the figures werent mine so I dont really count that) because its cheap and easy to play. Plus Ive been collecting comics for the past eleven years.

This is an interesting subject. I was wondering something similar the other day.

I started picking up HeroClix really because I collect comics and comics stuff (I've got more than 1,000 action figures almost all of which are comic based)

I haven't been into gaming since I played Top Secret in junior high. Never got into Magic or any other CCG, just didn't see the allure.

But I picked Clix up because they were cool little comic miniatures. Then the fact that the uniques were harder to get got me picking up more boosters. Then I started playing a little. Then I came here and found out how very little I knew about really playing the game.

Now if I could only find people around here that were into it.

I started heroclix because warhammer was too complicated and had too much painting. With heroclix the complication is in the specific strategy of 3-4 characters and not an entire army. Unless you're playing a SHIELD 400

I have a few warhammer figs but never continued cuz hc came out. I like the idea of building a team in ten minutes and playing with little to no questions asked, and I love the fact that I've already bonded with the characters. It's harder for me to bond with an evergreen elemental from magic than it is to bond with say black panther:)

So mainly I play heroclix, but magic is a good relief after pulling your 4th rookie blob, you can use four goblin marauders, but no one wants 4 rookie blobs.

Panther cult... your name is Panther Cult! Have I at last found another disciple of Wakanda, or is the panther cult a reference to something else.

HC all the way. The only other thing I ever did even remotely close was OverPower. And man do I have an unnatural amount of those cards...(anyone looking for some PM me) But both are only based on the fact that I love comic books.

Although, when I play with a buddy he uses MK figures, so in a roundabout way I come in contact with other figures.

Well I used to love Overpower, what was it, 7 years ago...ish..and got a lot of them, plus I managed to get a bunch of my friends who don't even read comics into them as well.

But the reason I got into HC was because I'm a huge Black Panther fan, and someone told me that this game had an awesome looking Panther figurine! When I saw one I had to buy it (plus I got Klaw for him to fight), and then once I grasped how to play the game the true addiction began.

I did buy a booster of MW, just coz they looked cool, but never played it. Just not as cool- superheroes are the way!

Hey Pantherpriest PM me! Great to see another Panther nut here! (and Panthercult too if relevant)

Ciao

Panther Priest -

Answering your question - in a word Yes.

My "handle" in most other on line forums is usually Tchalla - it's almost never taken and almost no one gets the reference. When I signed up here it was gone, so was Tchaka, so was Panther. I even tried PantherPriest first (nice pun with the character and the writer) but obviously you beat me to that one, so I ended up as PantherCult, which works for now. It was that or go with Man Ape :)

But yeah, huge Black Panther fan from way back. Jack Kirby's Jungle Action, the Avengers and finally the best incarnation of all, Priest's exceptional vision.

Priest has played up Panther's methodical planning so well, he's like Marvel's answer to Batman at this point.

I have several Warhammer and 40k armies but I haven't played much lately and haven't bought anything in a long while since GW keeps jacking up the prices. My gaming time is split between Dungeons and Dragons and Heroclix. The only thing stopping me from playing Heroclix all the time is lack of players. Like most others around here I get into the game because I'm a comics fan, X-men specifically. I told myself I'd just get a few of my favourite characters. Hah yeah right, 260 figures later I'm still addicted. Looking forward to x-plosion too.

And therefore he SHOULD be about as cool as batman in heroclix.

Right now, I only play HC (and only Marvel at that, I don't even buy DC). It's just a cost thing, maybe someday when I can get a nice job, I'll get to try other games.

Used to play GURPS way back when. Took way too long. Found Mage Knight and it was everything I was looking for until Heroclix came about. I haven't played Mage Knight in months. I was always a Superhero Junkie. Plus Heroclix is a faster moving game and I cannot tell you how often I would get screwed by bad measurments. Don't get me wrong I still love Mage Knight and I will be palying it more now that Football is over my Sundays are free.

Like so many others, I only play heroclix as a tabletop game, although I do have a good collection of dungeons figures-just never play. I was also a marvel comic book fan as a kid-spiderman and xmen mostly, although I read some early image titles in college-for the great graphics. I buy the DC figs for variety, and I (don't tell anyone) actually really like some of them (like swampthing, steel and booster gold).

I am a pro magic player, ( i guess, I have pro points) and a heroclix player. I played D&D for years when I was younger, and vampire, werewolf, mage, and changling. Now I play PS2, ha!

magic is in a huge slump right now so I have been playing heroclix more and more. But even though Heroclix is a great game, the tournment scene really cant compare to magic, so I still play it.

I playev Axis and Allies exclusively for a long time, then expanded to include many other games. I picked up HeroClix cause the release of the game just happened to coincide with my reinvigorated interest in comics (an interest which had died since '93, but was picked up again because of another wonderful game, Freedom Force). Around here, we also play Settlers of Catan, Vampire: Masquerade, Ax-Al PAcific, Europe, and Original as well as Mech Warrior, which is really good.

I collected Comics and one day saw this great comic-store where they also played Magic.
So I started playing that (still do in the weekend),
I was also a Startrek fan, So got some decks of that too.
Starwars rules So when I got/bought some cards build myself 2 decks too (that's all ;) )
I played with friends some Risk (the boardgame) and we wanted to try something new: Mageknight (we all have 1,2 factions each).
Then I saw the promo Spiderman and was sold !got myself a starter didn't buy more boosters until now that we finally have some players around here (Marvel only) !

I started gaming back in about 75 or 76 D&D little books monospace type paper covers been through many games since then designed 8-10 systems that never got finished helped some friends playtest the first 4 or 5 versions of their personal system called something like.... gurps but never really got into anything superhero-esque none of the systems made me feel I could use weaknesses and strengths the way I wanted... than about 6 mohts ago I was on vacation(working) in idaho and walked into this little gaming store and say the mech clix game I thought wow thats way cool how many can Ihave.... the owner of the sore said well actually I am out of stock right now but Ido have this superhero one. well I only had one question is there any dr. strange figures.... the rest is history I have something like 120 figures I still spend too much money on boosters seeing as I rarely play(im very nervous about playing games with people I dont kow) and I dont have a DR. strange yet... I am going to start doing local play here in the nest coupple of weeks and am looking forward to seeing different armys and play styles. I would buy other clix games if I had the money but for now its all about the super heros.
