Hi guys,

I want to take my kids to the movie. They are 4 and 7. They are big superhero and fantasy fans, like daddy. :)

I was wondering about the PG13 rating of DD. They have seen X-Men, Spider-Man and LOTR without a problem.

Would you say that Daredevil is in the same range in regards to violence/creepy beings? Can I take them out to see it?

Really appreciate your feedback here.

BIG THANKS!

Sly.

don't worry, there are no creepy beings, but there is some "suggestive" scenes that might not be approprait for younger people

It's not Spider-Man. People actually die in this movie. People get stabbed in this movie. According to Ebert and Roeper, DD JUST missed an R rating.

Of the movies you listed, DD is about on the level of LotR for the violence. My daughter is 5 and I don't think I'm going to take her, although she has seen the first LotR movie. I don't think DD is appropriate for her though. You know your kids... if you think it's ok, then take them. I'll wait for the DVD.

Um.... The violence of the Daredevil movie is near rated-R (due to the absence of blood), that's all I have to say about that. If you really want an accurate opinion, www.kids-in-mind.com rates a movie based on violence, sex, and profanity. If you see Daredevil, keep in mind that there are scenes where people get their hands shot (but no blood), and people get stabbed around and about. It's a reeeally dark movie. Nothing like Spider-Man. And far more darker than LOTR. But.... It really depends on how you percieve certain contents as inappropriate to people under 13.

I'd have to agree with Funky

There is a little too much death in this movie for kids. I really wanted to take my niece to it. She loved Spidey. But after seeing it I wouldn't feel right about letting a kid under 10 see it.

That;s just my opinion

Yeah. From what I have seen so far, I think I'll take them.

I was originally more worried about characters with very ugly mugs like the goblin and orcs in LOTR. But that did not phase them at all.

I wondered a bit about the dissolving politician (forget his name) in X-Men. No big deal for them.

Violence. Sometimes I think we see worse in the news nowadays. Doesn't seem to bother them too much. Even more so when we clearly explain that, in this case, it's fiction.

As for sex scenes, I will be on the lookout for that but it's part of life and we are pretty open with them about that. I'll have to see how far they take it in the movie, though.

Hey guys, how would you compare DD with the first Batman movie? Which was also pretty dark. That's another one they've seen that I can use as a guide.

here's my opinion....

Yeah there was alot of violence, but there was alot in LOTR, so if you took your kids to see LOTR, Daredevil would be no different......

The adult language, is Very brief.........

The Elektra/Murdock "sex" scene was all of 30 secs to a minutes........no big deal and there was nothing to really see.....alot of covering up......

Took my 12 years old sister, yes a little oder then most mentioned on the board, but still a young kid and she enjoyed it........

My best suggestion, would be to take them at your own discretion....you dont feel it to be right, then no pressure to take them! But, do enjoy the movie!! :D
