View Full Version : Odinsleep
Odinsleep: At the beginning of your turn, put a sleep token on this card. When there are three sleep tokens on this card, as a free action you must remove all of them and heal Thor, The Reigning of 5 damage. No action or game effect can cause Thor, The Reigning to move from the square he currently occupies. This power can't be countered or ignored.
Thor, The Reigning is successfully hit with doubles. His dial stops turning and ends up on the "Odinsleep" power. does Thor, The Reigning get knocked back? Or does the power go into effect after the knockback.

No knockback. Knockback has its own phase after damage dealt. Since no game effect can move him, he remains where he is at the end of the attack.

Consider Thor to have been KTFO'd....well, into a short nap, at the very least.
Think of it this way. Thor is only down for an 8 count in boxing.

OK, Thor can't be moved for 3 turns. does this mean he can't be touched for 3 turns? Better yet, why does he have Support and a Defense # during these 2 clicks?

He can't be moved, but that doesn't mean he can't take an action ;)

He can takes actions and be attacked as normal. He just can't be moved.

So you can TK him now? since TK is now "place" and not "move" or have they addressed this already?

I don't think so. The power specifies that:
'No action or game effect can cause Thor, The Reigning to move from the square he currently occupies.'
It doesn't matter that TK says place. He can't move from the space he occupies. Nightcrawler couldn't move him with his power either.
At least, that's my take on it.

Mine too. So if he's KOd he doesn't leave the battlefield?

Yup. He's stuck. So if he's KOd, do you remove him from the battlefield?

If he takes damage, he'll no longer have that power showing ;) So yes, if he is KO'd, he is removed from the battlefield.

Move and place are different things in this game. Even though placing does move the character in the real world, it is not movement from the games point of view.
So yes, you can TK Thor the Reigning when he is on his Odinsleep clicks.

IDK, it does say "NO action or game effect".

It also says "move", which TK does not do. VP is right.

Right, but it also says "move" not "place." Those are two different things in game terms.
It was ruled the same way here (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=290674&highlight=odinsleep), as well.

But if you TK him, no game effect is moving him, it's placing him, so it would be legal. Granted at the time the figure was made, TK was movement, so there could always be an errata in the future to include placement, but it's not there yet.
