Can you outwit someone who has stealth and is in hindering if you are touching base to base?

Nope, cant draw a line of sight to a stealth character even if you're in b2b.

Nope. It's in the FAQs...

"A figure with the Outwit power cannot cancel the Stealth power of a figure that is in hindering terrain. Outwit requires a clear line of fire and the Stealth power states that “any line of fire drawn to this character that crosses hindering terrain, including the square that this character occupies, is treated as though it crosses blocking terrain.” Since a clear LOF cannot be drawn to a Stealth figure that is in hindering terrain, that figure’s Stealth cannot be Outwitted."

Even though you are base to base, you still have no line of sight. So a most definite "no". You can not outwit a figure who has stealth or Batman ability that is in hindering terrain.

There may be one very small exception. The following scenario could happen:

1.) Get base to base and mind control the player with stealth and is in hindering terrain.

2.) Then if you successfully mind controlled the figure turn off it's stealth, which is optional and at your disposal for that turn.

3.) After the MC figure completes an action it's stealth will still be turned off for your turn.

4.) and then you can outwit.

I beleive this would work, because the optional powers are considered off for a duration of a turn.

Why bother turning off Stealth? You're better off moving the model out of hindering terrain. That way, you give the model an action token and eliminate its Stealth without having to use your Outwit.

It'd work, sure. But why would anyone do it?

I was entertaining the question, which was a fun thought. I wouldn't necessarily run out from hindering terrain as you suggest

You're opponent has Wolverine (U) and Wasp (U). Wolvie is in hindering. Let's say on my turn I...

1.) Use Controller and a free moving taxi to get adjacent to Wolvie.

2.) Mindcontrol wolvie successfully.

3.) Turn off Wolvie's stealth,

4.) turn around and use Wolverines's BCF on Wasp, instead of rolling for breakaway.

5.) Use Black Panther which NOW has LOS to turn off Wolverine's BCF, before he can use it on Controller next turn.

6.) Use let's say Bullseye that NOW has LOS to Wolvie and shots him down. Or someone else who now incapacitates him. etc. etc. etc.

It's not too unrealistic.
