Ok, here is my First difficult task, to come up with a contender within 300pts. This will be my 3rd tourney, and i'm very rusty on DC team building.
I have one week to come up with something decent. Its a 3 match tourney with 10 turns each.
I guess my first ? is who do i build around? Should i go with a flash E with Batman E, and who should i have supporting them?
Is Brainiac worth the points in any of his levels? Or should i go with any of the supermen, like steel for instense with his longevity of life.
Are there any Uniques in your opinion worth using? (i've looked at all the ones i have, I don't have parasite, and am a little confused on if any of them are valuable enough to drop in the mix)
Is there a strong strategy to build off the teams with and is Aquaman worth the leadership?
If you read this post, please respond with ANY of your thoughts of what was working for you or not. I appreciate the time you put aside to give me an idea of how to structure a decent team.
Thanks
:D

If you really want to annoy people, here's what you use. Steel rookie for taking out Batman allies, Swamp Thing as your beat stick, booster gold as a taxi. All three of these characters have a long life span. Then add any other characters you like such as Nightwing or Batman.

It all depends on what type of team you want to make. There are lots of good center pieces. E Batman, V Bane, Darseid, Grundy it all depends. IMO the best support pieces are Booster gold, Blue Beetle, and Harley Quinn. Aquaman is a good addition because of leadership and because of his 'herculean' stats. In a strait DC team I like Hawk a lot.

I just put together an insane Marvel team so I'll take a shot at DC. the great thing about DC is there isn't just a TEAM that takes all teams, but here's my generic answer:
E Aquaman 36
E Booster Gold 38
V Nightwing 72
R Steel 66
V Bane 85
Total 297
or for fun use what ever you have!
I've only played this team once, and it did fairly well, though I'm not sure how it'd do in "competitive" play.
E Batman
V Flash
E Booster Gold
R Hawkman
R Harley Quinn
R Checkmate Medic
--300 points--
Flash could be downgraded to E, and you could turn Batman into V Nightwing, and play around with the additional points, possibly adding another Perplexer.
The basic strategy is to plop Batman down in some hindering terrain near the center of the action, so that he has control of the nearby terrain. Bring Flash up, but leave him just out of the maximum range of your opponent's figures. Later, have Batman continually Outwit and shoot up your opponents as Flash does hit-and-runs on weakened figures. For the most part, I find that the team plays itself, as you have the taxis bring their payloads in, clear, and then they're effective attack pieces as well. Virtuallly all of your important pieces move for free too, so mobility isn't a problem. The initial dual Outwit is also pretty sweet too.
A slightly less effective, but more themed version of this team is:
E Batman
E Flash
E Booster Gold
R Hawkman
E Plastic Man
R Checkmate Medic
--300 points--
I'm working on yet another version that is:
V Nightwing
V Flash
E Booster Gold
R Hawkman
E Plastic Man
--283 points--
And I haven't really figured out what to do with the remaining points, or if I should downgrade Flash (probably), or what.

Thanks for some of your tips, keep em rolling in. On a sad note, i do not have a Flash V. But I do have everything else though. I guess my first ? is what's the deal with Plastic man E? How would he be effective?
Dropping batman on hiddering terran, does that constitute that he's in stealth mode?
How effective is a Hawk and Dove combo?
Has anyone been able to use Gorilla Grodd effectively?
Are checkmate medics more useful than Intergang medics?
And finally, What's so cool about Hawkman, or is Steel R more valuable?
Thanks for all of your thoughts guys.:)

Here is my DC 300 pt. team...
V Nightwing
E Bane
R Aquaman
E Hawkman
R Hawkman
R Hawkman
E Chackmate Medic
= 299 pts.
You have 3x taxis and 3x muscles with 4x actions (with Aquaman's leadership) plus a solid medic. Not to mention the charge-and-carry capabilities of your taxis for additional attacks when necessary.

In my opinion, I like the Key. I had to use one DC booster for the CT marqueue and I won with it. I gained a lot more respect for Key. It actually does well in the Marvel IC/CT world as well.

well heres my
FIVE TIME
FIVE TIME
FIVE TIME
FIVE TIME
FIVE TIME
all d.c. undefeated tournament team!
vet joker
vet nightwing
vet manbat
vet checkmate medic
roo aquaman
exp booster gold
vet robin
this team doesnt look like much but it absolutely rocks if played properly. joker and nightwing do the main damage. booster carries joker and serves as his meat shield. manbat carries nightwing into hindering terrain and also uses charge to attack anyone who gets to close. the medic hides in the back and waits. while robin leap climbs his way towards the opponents medics (or whatever else is bothering you) and i use aquaman to clean up any stragglers that get beaten down by jokers poison. The only thing i would recommend before using this team is that you practice with it. It takes a while to get use too. I will go off and brag that in most games i only lost robin and aquaman and the worst i ever did was lose those two and booster gold. it rules. give it a try.
now can you dig that

Uh .... Who Knew That The Fallen One was secretly WWE Wrestler Booker T? Go Figure.
Well I think a good team might be, (snicker, snicker)
R Harley
R Harley
V Hawk
E Booster Gold
E Booster Gold
V Mad Hatter
E Aquaman
V Checkmate Medic
I've seen this team work well against a multi-player game recently. It was a three-way game. I lost only Mad Hatter.
Truth be told almost every click of damage I took was self inflicted.
Honestly I got very lucky though. Player 1 was my girlfriend. Player 3 ..... well we'll just say it was some guy. :) They started attacking each other early in the game. He was gonna base his team around Gorilla Grodd but her (my) Unique Batman decided Grodd needed a few batarang sized air holes in his head and so the carnage began. She had her E Harley try to perplex one of my characters and I wasn't gonna take that so I had Booster fly Hawk on up to her. Hawk attack as a human once and in the next round pushed to attack again thus becoming a super human. He passed a turn and then he started the real beatdown. Say Goodnight Harley. Meanwhile My other Booster Gold carried Mad Hatter out to mid field and Mind Controlled her R Flash into ruuning up onto a building and attacking Player 3's E Harley for one click. Problem was that now Flash was in between R Aquaman and E Gorilla Grodd that were not his friend and it was thier turn next.
But U Batman came on down and decided he wanted to use some of the tough love of Close combat Expert on him. It didnt take much. Jervis Tetch has left the building.
My rookie Harley had Line of Sight to my Booster while another had line of sight to U Batman so I upped Booster's damage while lowering Batman's defense. It was sweet.
I decided that the now rested Hawk and Booster who'd just killed Harley should join the conversation. Hawk did some more charge on Gotham's billionaire with a flying mamal motif and a thing for young men in tights.
Player 3 had brought his already damaged Hawk down to the field and he had an E Huntress in the distance. My Aquaman slowly moved up the field along Checkmate medic who was needed to heel one of my Booster Golds. U Batman managed to leap climb his way out of danger towards her medic.
My Booster's took turns attacking Player 3's Hawk and her Booster who had previously carried Batman down to the street. Then one of the Boosters carried Hawk over to huntress.
It was a good game and truth be told I benefitted from his placement and my girlfriends initial attacks on him. I just came in to pick off the remains. Though he wasn't on the field it should have been called Team Vulture.
I should haved killed Batman when I had the chance.... :)
I'm trying to get my girlfriend into the game and outright destroying her is not a good way to encourage her. She doesn't take it like I do. I get beat and I Immediately want to redeem myself. She gets tense and wants to stop playing so I had to cut her some slack. - Terrence
So Blueleader ..... um what did you think of my team? :)
PS I should point out that Player 3's Huntress was the killer of Mad Hatter.

E Flash is almost the same as V Flash...the latter just has an extra "middle of the dial" click.
Dropping batman on hiddering terran, does that constitute that he's in stealth mode?
Yes, the Batman Ally team ability is, for all intents and purposes, (except that it can't be Outwitted) Stealth.
How effective is a Hawk and Dove combo?
No clue. I've heard it's not so good in a tournament-type setting, but in last-man-standing, it's not so bad.
Has anyone been able to use Gorilla Grodd effectively?
I've heard one or two reports, but not as many as I'd like. I'm not sure whether the E or V version is better.
Are checkmate medics more useful than Intergang medics?
They're cheaper (because they're not paying for Superman Enemy team), although they have similar stats, it appears.
And finally, What's so cool about Hawkman, or is Steel R more valuable?
Depends on what you're using them for, really. R Hawkman has a movement of 10, can attack okay on his own, but his primary advantages are that he costs around 30, and has the JLA free move. R Steel has the same movement, similarly only has superpowers on his first click (well, mostly), and costs about twice as much; however, Steel has a much deeper dial, and has the Superman Ally team ability, which can be useful.

I've been playing DC for awhile and this is the best team I've been able to come up with.
Hawk E
Dove E
Nightwing V
Carter Hall LE
Blue Beetle R
Robin V
Checkmate Medic V
Hawk and Dove are the real brawn of the group. Hawk's attack value of 12 hits almost every time and Dove is there to taxi him around. Dove is quite a brawler too so don't be afraid to leave her in base to base contact when taxiing Hawk next to someone.
Nightwing is there for his outwit, stealth and ranged combat.
I keep Carter Hall and Blue Beetle near each other so Carter can taxi Beetle. Beetle's force blast is very useful for such a cheap character. Use it to knock Batman allies of hindering terrain so others can attack them. Also, knocking characters with Impervious into walls is a very effective way to get around their defense. And Beetle can also be used as defense, for himself and others. Bane is about to knock Nightwing over the head with a dumpster, but here comes Carter & Beetle.....Beetle knocks Bane two spaces away with Force Blast so Bane can't attack. And the best thing - it doesn't even require a dice roll to do it. And Carter Hall is the best flier DC has. Movement of 10, Charge and natural damage of 3 of his first two clicks.
Robin fits in nicely as a mid-range attacker with stealth.
And finally, the Vet Checkmate Medic, the best medic in DC.

on blue beetle's force blast...... do you have to roll to get that or that just automatic? and does it ignore impervious or toughness all together or is there something I'm just not understanding about this power???
Ghost_Rider

No roll is needed, its automatic. No superpower can protect against Force Blast (except Charge I think), although Toughness and Invulnerability can be used against any knockback damage.
Ghost
Hmm. I usually run mixed teams (my team of Doom Minions combined with Nightwing and Intergang Medic is crazy), ubt let's give this a shot.
One, Nightwing, yes. He's relatively cheap, has outwit, Batman ability, two ranged attacks, solid range, solid damage for his first click, he's an incredible all-around character who I've never seen perform poorly. =72
Medic? Go Checkmate. Intergang, in my opinion, is ONLY worth fielding IF you have a team of mostly wildcards (to dupe his "outwit" team ability). Otherwise (and there are no DC wildcards), it's better to go with the checkmate, who is 10 points cheaper, has nearly identical stats, PLUS an extra click of healing, PLUS a range of 6, if you need to shoot at things, while the Intergang is at 0. The only problem with the Checkmate is that he weakens faster, losing two attack in his first click, and one each after that, staying one behind the checkmate, so DON'T push him. In this case, however, skimp to the E version, which lasts very solidly, and saves a few necessary points for this build.
+ 17 = 89
I generally go with E Harley, since she keeps her abilities for a while. V is probably better, but I haven't got one (yet). +36 = 125
E Flash is also a good idea, since he is pretty much as good as the vet one, at a lower cost. +82 = 207
Now we need some Taxis, I like'd go with E Manbat, for his low cost, and R Steel, for his longevity and Superman ability. Thats +66 and + 27 = 300 even.
So to say again, that's
V Nightwing
E Checkmate Medic
E Harley
E Flash
R Steel
R Manbat
Really, DC is seriously lacking right now, and I wouldn't even put together a 300 point team that I couldn't crush with a 300 point Marvel team, but this is the best I could think of.
