View Full Version : First, Masterpiece figs... next, purple ring sets...

My masterpiece figs were the first to go. Next up... my purple ring sets (I have them all). My question for you all is this:

Should I sell the Legacy set as a set or individually?

I'll sell all of the other sets as a set (all the MM together, all the FF together, etc). But considering the highly collectible and valuable nature of the Legacy figs (specifically KC GL, KC Flash, and Ares), would I be better off selling those figs individually?

I think that doing it all individually would be best. I am not a collector of purple ringed figures, but I am sure there are people who are. I am also pretty sure that if there are collectors of purple ringed figures they have a little bit of this and that but not a complete set.

If you have the time. It might be best to do it individually.

I think the 2 that will fetch you the most of those is KC GL, and Ares, so I would sell individually!

i disagree. i would make an offer on the whole legacy set. i have never been interested in purple ringed uniques before, but the thought of getting all of them (sets) from one place makes it seem like a possibility. by the way... do you have the sr versions of the le's also?

Yeah, now that you mention it, I do. I had forgotten about them. They really aren't worth much so I probably wouldn't even mess with them. The SRs are in my tackle boxes with the sets and its nice to just be able to pull them out without digging through the LEs (which I keep in all of their boxes) if there's a fig I want to use.

Yeah, boxes! They seemed kind of cool and "collectable" way back when, but man, they take up so much space! Plus you have a choice - either keep the LEs in the boxes (and not see them) or display the LEs and then come up with a way to store all the boxes! Plus try to keep track of which box actually goes with which LE!

And yet we hold onto those darn boxes, and even have boxes for our boxes! This really is a kind of "plastic crack" isn't it?
Back to Karl's question, my guess is you'd get more by selling the "Big Name" Uniques separately. Just a guess, but if it's an auction you would probably get bids from more people that way. Some highly motivated bidder with a big Paypal account might still end up with everything, but he'd probably pay more because of competition.

That actually turned out to be a good thing during my last move. When we packed our multitude of books, we used the LEboxes to take up space and keep some boxes from getting too heavy.

My instinct is that you'll have more people interested in bidding for individual PRs (and Legacy uniques ought to motivate many people), when they might not have the cash to touch a PR set auction.

I agree with this. I'd be interested in the KC Green Lantern PR, but that's about it......maybe Prometheus too.

:laugh::laugh::laugh: I swear I won't bid on the PR. I have most of them already for some strange reason. I'm not a collector by any means. Don't know why I have these. Wait, there was once an Envoy night that WK said we can use PR on tournaments. Another promise left unfulfilled.

We use PRs in our tournaments. Honestly, nobody cares about the difference.
