I was playing Heroclix the one day and I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same amount of points. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies and their character cards (if the figure does not have a card, assume there was a custom one made). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig).

Stardust - 171 (Avengers)

vs.

Supergirl - 178 (Crisis)

Terrain:
Forest: A thick wooden forest, small paths wind around dense foliage. Each tree looks just like the last, and it may be a little hard to navigate through.

(Speed) Superspeed: Supergirl can use Hypersonic Speed, but can make only close combat attacks when using Option 1.

At first I was, "Hm, Stardust is probably stronger, but Kara can give her a fight.."

Then, "oh YEA, pre-crisis!"

Supergirl stomps.

Supergirl blows out Stardust with a single Pre-Crisis Super-breath for the win. :)

My vote: Supergirl

Pre-Crisis Supergirl wins this one without breaking a sweat.

Supergirl to advance

Dang. This is too funny. There's not even any debate. That's just how ludicrously powerful a pre-Crisis Kryptonian was. If nothing else, we have to thank the Crisis for that. Yeah, yeah, Supergirl should win this one.

Yep, PC Supergirl for the all too easy win here.

This whole round is like weeding out everyone who is not a S-SHW or cosmic. :p

Going with Supergirl, the ONLY READABLE member of the House of El... (sorry, I severely dislike Superman)

Magnito
03/07/2010, 21:37
Does that readability extend to Pre-Crisis SG? :p

Hey, what about Conner?

As a side note, monkey wrech to the whole thing. Stardust is also a magic user, and can render itself intangible enough for any heat vision, super punching, freezey breath to pass right through.

Plus, Stardust also often fights that way. As such, I'll vote for Stardust. Supergirl has no quick and easy method for beating Stardust, while Stardust has plenty of things that will work on Supergirl.

Galactus made himself a magical herald?

Stardust uses magic? Not just the Power Cosmic?

Well, that kind of alters how I was viewing this battle.

Stardust wins in this case.

Where does Stardust use magic?

I'm fairly certain I've read all of his appearances.

Even if he doesn't how is she going to get past his phasing?

I have to ask the same question. I've looked at all the reference material, including synopses of what she's done in each of her appearances and there is zero reference to magic.

However, there are plenty of references to Stardust's physical form being destroyed. If Stardust supposedly spends entire fights intangible how does she keep getting "broken?"

My vote for Supergirl still stands.

Yea, Stardust may be able to phase with the power cosmic (Surfer technically can too), but she hardly uses it every fight, let alone fights phased.

No magic, just power cosmic.

I think Maniac's getting her partially confused with someone else.

The black hole Stardust creates to battle Beta Ray Bill is created via spell casting.

When Stardust died, it was via Galacus' power cosmic uber planet destroying blast. The same power that fuels Stardust (amped and channeled by Thanos and Annihilus).

No, the black hole generated by Stardust that Asteroth comes through is generated by magic.

Also, for most of the fight with Beta Ray Bill it's all phased (even stating this is how it survives much of Bill's onslaught, such as when he blows up the plaentoid).

Using magic to open a portal (presuming you're correct and it was magic, as no other source - including Marvel's write-ups - refers to magic) does not really qualify one as a "magic-user" in the manner that would count as an advantage against pre-Crisis Kryptonians.

And there are about ten million various "super-vibration" tricks Pre-Crisis Supergirl could use against a phase-shifted opponent as well. Not seeing anything Stardust could do in this fight really. My vote stands
