I haven't listened to the cast yet, but here are my two favorite comic-inspired teams:

Seven Soldiers. This is the build and this is why. (http://heroclixin.wordpress.com/2009/05/30/64/)

The other is based on the JLA/JSA: Virtue and Vice graphic novel in which members of both teams were possessed by the seven deadly sins.

Pride: V Mr. Terrific
Lust: V Power Girl
Envy: V CD Green Lantern
Anger: V Leg Batman
Greed: R HT Plastic Man
Sloth: E Unl. Dr. Fate
Gluttony: U Shazam

It won me my first tournament victory and I've treasured that LE Tony Stark ever since.

ibeatdrew, you prefer the ### smudges of current 'artists'
bachalo and ramos to the classic (though dated) work of Kirby and Ditko?

...everyone's entitled to their opinion, but you really don't know what you're
talking about do you?

...wow.

...whose your third favorite...Liefeld?

I do appreciate your team builds though...maybe stick to that.

Your opinion is noted. If you listen to previous podcasts we give Liefeld a good thrashing.

I do know what I am talking about thank you. Also Liefeld us a far cry from Ramos and Bachalo. A closer third would Herrera, Ringo, or Skottie Young. Their styles are closer to Ramos and Bachalo. You'd have to group Liefeld with a style closer to Lee, McFarlane and Larson.

Conversation over. Opinion noted.

Didn't mention them cause I forgot. They are great articles. Are teams werent really supposed to be acurate, but more or less based on comics that made us want to play clix.

Thanks for posting your teams. Steve's teams were a tad higher than I usually like to play, but the lineups are what they are.

My favorite "large roster" team (that stays below 600 points) is an "X-men" keyword team that is the X-Men's Secret Wars lineup:

131 M&M Professor X
100 M&M Storm
95 FF Vet Rogue
94 Sin U Wolverine
61 FF Vet Nightcrawler
60 DR Colossus
50 M&M Cyclops
8 BST Lockheed
=599 points

The force has several figures that aren't respected (Rogue, Colossus, Nightcrawler) but the first two *are* good at followup attacks when opponents over-extend to try to KO Wolverine. The Nightcrawler is not the top-click HSSer, but with a deep dial and good starting movement, you can easily use him as tie-up while you prepare your ranged assaults from Prof, Storm and Cyclops.

I've found this team to be a surprisingly effective theme team.

At 700 points, you can add:

89 IC Exp Magneto
+12 Contingency Plan
