View Full Version : If Spider-Man doesn't have these powers then everyone has to die....

I've been thinking about it, and I really think Spider-Man really needs to have the following powers:

Leap/Climb - Spidey defines this
Flurry - he frequently lets loose with a barrage of punches
Charge - He swings in and hits someone ALL THE TIME!
Running shot - He swings in and webs someone ALL THE TIME!
Hypersonic speed - The barrage of punches again, plus he hits/webs someone in mid-swing ALL THE TIME!
Plasticity - He's almost Plastic Man like in his flexibility. Plus he webs people up to keep them from escaping.
Phasing - Like Leap/Climb, only moreso; he can always find a way to wriggle out.
Stealth - Spidey's always hiding in the alleys, on buildings, etc.
Force Blast - Spidey's strong, and pushes people around a lot
Mind Control - Spidey's convinced a lot of villains to switch sides, and gotten people to accidentally hit their teammates a lot.
Energy Explosion - Spidey throws web balls into crowds of criminals, flings objects cllected by webbing, etc. Plus Impact Webbing
Blades/Claws/Fangs - Spidey's strength is unpredictable! Plus his connector-things on his fingertips are probably sharp.
Super-Strength - He hits people with stuff a lot
Telekenesis - He webs people up and flings them from building to building.
Poison - Any enemy standing next to Spidey's getting hurt, no matter what
Psychic Blast - Spidey always finds a way to hurt even the toughest foes
Pulse Wave - Impact Webbing
Energy Drain - This would represent Spidey's second wind really well!
Smoke Cloud - he likes to web up the floor. Plus he sometimes carries smoke bombs
Incap - his webbing defines this
Toughness - Spidey's really hard to hurt. HE HAS to have toughness
Super Senses - Spider-Sense, anyone?
Energy Shield/Deflection - he's harder to hit at range. Plus he sometimes make web shields.
Invulnerability - He's stood up to punches from the toughest opponents.
Impervious - this would represent his Spider-Sense plus how hard he is to hurt!
Mastermind - Spidey always pushes criminals in the way of something coming for him
Defend - he's the ultimate team-up guy!
This could represent his second wind really well.
Willpower - Remember that issue where he got up from under that rubble pile? That was cool.
Barrier - Spidey uses his webs like this ALL the Time! (well, occasionally)
Battle Fury - He loses his temper occasionally. Plus, this could represent him running out of webbing.
RCE - He can do things at range he can't do close up, like pulling down brick walls or chimneys onto people
Enhancement - He's the ultimate team player!
Leadership - He's the Ultimate Team Player!
Perplex - He uses his wisecracks to confuse people.
Shape Change - He tricks criminals into thinking he's on their side a lot.
Support - He helps out his friends a lot. Plus, he's a comic book scientist, meaning he's a physician, chemist, and nuclear physicist!
Outwit - He comes up with strategies at the last minute ALL THE TIME!
CCE - He can punch people close in. At range all he has is webbing.
Probability Control - He always finds a way to defy the odds.

He should also have flight - because he swings from the rooftops carrying people ALL THE TIME!

If they don't give him every single one of those powers, I don't see how any of us can be happy. Why can't we have Spidey done right?

I, like, totally agree with you, bjmc1975.

I mean, what are those people at WizKids thinking? Have they ever actually read a comic? I mean, like, c'mon.

And there's no way that he should cost more than 80pts. And, he should have the Spidey team ability and the Avengers ability 'cause he was a reserve member and the X-Men ability 'cause he's worked with them a lot in the past and the SHIELD ability 'cause he just did a whole mission with them in the Ultimate Spider-Man stories and the Fantastic Four ability 'cause he replaced them for a while and he works with them a lot. And that way, you wouldn't have to actually include all of those stupid extra people on your team just to have him use the ability, you know? I mean, what's the point of having a wild-card ability when you have to pay all of those extra points to have people on your team with those abilities?

He should also have most of the Team abilities... I mean, sure Spiderman team ability is a Wildcard, but that doesn't truly justify all his powers and team affiliations....

How am I responding to this?... I died a couple of posts back.

Stealthed characters should be able to drive the forklift around and use it as mobile-stealth.

I TOTALLY disagree with you! There is NO comic book reason why he should have SS!! I mean really! how can you even suggest such a thing? Spidey would never have such a power. I think you were just exagerating.

Everything else is right tho:D

Don't forget the jla team ability, cause his ex-girl's name begins with a B (Black Cat), and the 2nd flash's first name begins with a B too, (Barry Allen), and that flash was a member once, so Spidey's practically king of the JLA (think about it...)

but on a more serious note, there are going to be a whole lot more spider-men, so there's no problem with making power suggestions her, and like Stingey said, noone likes a smart-alek.

Leap/Climb - Scratch this. Spidey SWINGS and WALLCRALWS. He can't leap over tall buildings.
Flurry - Nah. If you look closely, he usually swings ONCE, then spends some time wisecracking and dodging.
Charge - Why? He's not a particularly heavy hitter.
Running shot - Spidey with the same power as Bullseye and Cyclops? Don't make me laugh.
Hypersonic speed - Sure. I bet he can run across ponds and up buildings, too...
Plasticity - I have yet to see a single issue where Spidey's arms or legs get longer.
Phasing - Suuure. He vibrates through walls, right?
Stealth - Ah. This would represent his swinging around from skys####ers in broad daylight, right?
Force Blast - Um, sure. To represent his force of personality, right?
Mind Control - Ah, yes... the ancient and forgotten "Psychic Spider-Man Story Line"....
Energy Explosion - I was not aware that web fluid was explosive.
Blades/Claws/Fangs - Okay... "I was bitten by a Radioactive Spider-Man! Riiiight.
Super-Strength - Yup, Spidey routinely juggles city buses.
Telekenesis - He webs people up and flings them from building to building? Precisely when did he ever do this?
Poison - Ah. To go with his poisonous claws and fangs, right?
Psychic Blast - Must've got that when Professor X bit him, right?
Pulse Wave - to represent his baked bean supper, I'm sure.
Energy Drain - to go with his poisonous VAMPIRIC spider fangs. This just keeps getting better...
Smoke Cloud - When did he ever carry smoke bombs?
Incap - I thought about this... but when did Spidey's webbing only hold a guy for a few minutes? Generally, either it works for hours, or the guy rips it to pieces in seconds. This power is inappropriate for Spidey.
Toughness - Get real. He's hard to HIT, not hard to hurt.
Super Senses - Um... okay.
Energy Shield/Deflection - He's already hard to hit, with an insane defense. When did he grow a force field?
Invulnerability - Yeah, I'm sure he could go toe to toe with the Hulk. NOT!
Impervious - Already has supersenses.
Mastermind - Ah, yes, to make use of his ubiquitous horde of spider-underlings.
Defend - And here I was thinking he wasn't much of a joiner.
Willpower - Actually, it seems to me that he is often outlasted by foes with more stamina than he has.
Barrier - Again, I don't remember his webbing vanishing a few seconds after he uses it...
Battle Fury - Ah, yes. We all remember his fifth title, "The Savage Rampaging Spider-Hulk."
RCE - "The Spectacular Sniper-Man." Suuuure.
Enhancement - And Spidey has this power HOW?
Leadership - Pfffft. He's the ultimate loner.
Perplex - If Spidey has this power, then so does George Carlin. Gimme a break...
Shape Change - Ahahahahahahahaha.....
Support - The Spectacular Spider-Medic. Riiiight.
Outwit - Ummmm..... okay.
CCE - He can punch people close in. So can I, but that doesn't make me Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Probability Control - The Spectacular Scarlet Spide-- oh, wait, someone's already made that joke. Published it, too...

Plainly, they should simply strip Spidey of ALL his powers, except for Super Senses and Outwit...:D

Doomtoy,

While I humbly disagree with absolutely everything you just said, I have to say that your sarcasm is unneccessary and unappreciated.

Everyone who has ever read a comic knows that there is no person in comics ever who is better or more powerful than Spidey. That's a fact.

Thus, when someone with some shred of credibility around here comes forth and spews this nonsense about Spidey not having any powers except for Outwit and Super-Senses, WizKids might actually take you seriously and do it. And that would be a travesty.

You don't want to be responsible for a travesty, do you? Really?

I didn't think so. Now, if you'll humbly delete your previous post with all of its inane assertions, we Spidey-fans everywhere would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your time,

JacinB

If you don't get the sarcasm there, I too humbly apologize.

He needs mind control with 2 arrows, and 8 range to represent his captivating personality.

Here is what he should have in some incarnation

Leap/Climb - 'nuff said
Flurry - last minute attack
Blades/Claws/Fangs - the promo has this. Think about it as a power and not as the name. It could represent that last big punch he puts it all into
Super-Strength - spider strength
Incap - web
Toughness - Probably on a 2nd wind click, like the sentinel. No more than 2 clicks of it though
Super Senses - Spider-Sense
Defend - To represent the web shield
Perplex - I agree that his wisecracks makes this power work
Outwit - Last minute planning
CCE - Maybe another 2nd wind power

and possibly flight

Doomtoy
03/17/2003, 13:37
Stinger, are you referring to Spider-Man, me, or Solomon Grundy?

Seriously, The Stinger... He needs mind control with 2 arrows, and 8 range to represent his captivating personality.

Range 8? Everyone will agree Spidey should be the only range 14. He has an affect on every other comic all of the time, so his range should reflect it. Maybe someone will finally listen to us.

Go Spider-Fans!!!

I'm not paying attention to you. I didn't even read the stuff I'm quoting, even though I'm obviously referring to it.

But, seriously - we need to wear pants now? Since when?

I'll wear pants when Donald Duck wears pants.
Seriously, Donald Duck is in the US Navy, doesn't wear pants, and
we wonder why sexual harrassement in our military is an issue.
