View Full Version : Looking for theme team ideas...
The format for the tournament I'm going to be playing in this weekend is 600 points, with the following requirements:
1 figure with the Transporter ability.
1 figure with either the Duo Attack ability or the Sharpshooter ability.
1 figure with the Indomitable ability.
1 Giant figure.
1 Double based figure.
I've come up with the idea of a Celebrity theme team, using the following figures to meet the requirements:
Power Man and Iron fist (Duo with Indomitable), 136 pts
Rita Farr (Giant), 76 pts
Vigilante (Double based Transporter), 45 pts
I'm curious about whether it's possible to come up with different themes based on this, however. Anybody have suggestions?

How about a Monster theme?
Devil Dinosaur & Moon Boy (giant + double + duo) 151
Lobo (double + transporter) 207
Fenris Wolf (giant + double) 140
Joker SR (AA - indomitable) 97
595 points

Do the figured have to have the symbol on their own, or is it acceptable if they gain the symbol via Special Power? (i.e. Klarion the Witch Boy get the Duo ability via Special Power)
What if they use Pym Particles to become a Giant?

Yeah, I second the use of Devil Dino and Moonboy. Not only is a pretty decent figure in its own right, but it takes care of 3 of the 5 criteria all on its own.
If you want to try an Animal theme, instead of the Monster suggested above, you could do:
Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy 151
Lockjaw 38
Thor, Frog of Thunder 72
and then 339 points of other Animals and feats to your own personal preference.
Or, if you don't have a Frog of Thunder (I don't :():
Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy 151
Lockjaw 38
Gorilla Grodd 157
With 254 left to build.

The animal one looks good from normal. Add:
Fenris Wolf- 140pts
Bug- 44pts
Rocket Raccoon- 65pts
Five points left for feats.

Unfortunately I don't have Lobo, Fenris Wolf or Lockjaw, and it still kills me that I never got Frog of Thunder (a couple of people at my usual venue have seen someone pull him, but that's as close as he's ever gotten to me), so I'm out of luck on the build suggestions. Those do sound like amazingly effective and fun builds, though!

What if they use Pym Particles to become a Giant?Good question - will have to ask my judge when I get the chance.
