NEW DC SET (as mentioned by JL)

If you read the latest JL Q&A, then you're just as releaved as I am that a new DC set is mentioned!

Hopefully, this was a planted tid bit, and more news will surface in the next couple weeks...

OK, so how long for a set to go from 'in development' or 'in playtest' to the shelf ? No more than 6 months, I assume, if JL had input into Hypertime after March/April and it came out in mid-September.

We were playtesting CT last summer, and it was out, when, November?

The problem is, though, there's no DC expansion on any of WK's released product schedules, and I've seen some in the trade press that go into 3Q03 (Game Trader magazine, I think).

As I recall, the release date for X-Plosion was announced about 3 months in advance, to coincide with its solicitation in Previews magazine. I don't think anyone ouside Wizkids really had a clue as to the release date prior to that, so a document that shows stuff to be released up to the third quarter of 2003 may not be all inclusive.

Previews comes out the last week of each month, and announces products to be released 3 months thereafter, eg, it was the January Previews that announced the Inquest magazine to be released in April will contain the Green Lantern mail in offer.

Soooo...we'll have another Previews next week. If there is a DC expansion coming in May, we will hear about it within a week. If we hear nothing in a week, then June becomes the earliest possibility. And someone claiming to have insider info told me it will in fact be a June release. We'll see.

I was really hoping that we'd hear news this week at Toy Fair, but nothing so far.

oh, i don't know. i'm sure they're playtesting the figs now....

i mean, we can guess that they need to tell us 3 months prior to the date it's out (otherwise we'll know from industry reports through our distributors). so...i'm sure by the end of march or so we'll hear something.

it sure will be nice to see the r/e/v superman blue and the U superman red.
