I am hoping (and it may be in the works) That Wizkids makes a new forums page with their website. Especially interested to get a trade site established that like the old days. Don't get me wrong, I love the Realms trade site here, but I am constantly getting viruses from realms, so I wish I had another trading option. Anyone else hope for this?

I would prefer they don't start a forums. It is too much work and HCRealms really just does it better. Running a forum takes time, money, and effort and I would rather have those resources devoted to keeping HeroClix a healthy game line.

Agreed on all fronts. Let them spend their resources on something more useful, like getting that store locator up and running...

Also agree.
There is a VERY small group of folks on staff now. It would be a waste of scarce resources at this time.
As for the viruses, I have a MAC, so I fortunately don't have to deal with that.
It might be useful for the top folks at this site to respond to this issue though.
One response could be, "Hey guys, it will take us X amount of dollars annually to effectively deal with the virus problem. How many of you guys will donate to make this possible?"
This would at least give the non-MAC users a chance to impact this issue in a positive way.

besides the fact that you could donate to the site and get the ads taken off. I am surprised there are still some sort of virus out there. It is pretty annoying.

This might give you some assistance.

I'll pass on the Wizkids forums. I remember the mods running them like their own private playground. The Realms are infinetly better.

Everyday I pick up spyware from here. It is very annoying. Short of buying a Mac, or donating money, I think it would be nice to have more options like before that don't cost me cash. I donated here before, then later found out donations only give you a benefit for a limited time. I Did not want to be bled cash over and over especially when money is tight these days.
Besides I don't think having the forums on their site was the reason for Wizkids going down.

I only banned Carlos because he asked for it...or was that GentleGamer that asked? The mods ran the site as WizKids wanted the site ran. The non-employee mods, of which there were many, had parameters in place for moderation.

There are several for free things you can do, many of them involve FireFox and related "freebie" products.

If you like what HCRealms does, why not support it with a few dollars a year? You can donate for a year for less than a pack of HeroClix costs you and the ads go away.

To get rid of the ads, all you need is a Copper donorship. That costs a whopping $5 a year. Totally worth it just to lose the ads, if you ask me.

Yes, but whining costs you nothing!:p

If NECA already had forums up and running for their other products, it would seem simple to add a WK section to that. But since that's not the case and Drew and the gang are utilizing the update section on the WK main site to communicate with us, I see no need for a forum. Aside from the fact it was nice to have two places to talk about clix, back in the day.

Pretty much done in one.

It's not necessary, and hasn't experience shown us again and again that fan sites do it better than official ones? With announcements on the site and various Wizkids folk coming by here to comment, we're well-covered.

Correct! All those reasons and more are why a WK ran forum would be a bad idea. I seriously hope they do not do it.

If approved play judging comes back I'd at least like to see judges forums. Not that I don't like the realms for rulings, but I liked the quick responses without the unrelated commentary.

I understand the "need" for that but I if you pay for forum software you might as well use it full tilt.

I would rather see an agreement reached between RealmWorx and WizKids that made a forum here for Judges only.

Emphasis mine. Are you sure you ever visited the old Judges Forum?

LOL

I gotta disagree. I think it would be in everyone's interests to have a Judges' Forum seperate from the Realms and kept in-house.

Is it worth it to pay for the software to accomplish ONLY that one thing? Wouldn't it then also be likely that a full-on forum would be created?

Well, obviously that depends on how the Forum would be used, particularly on the WK side of things.

Its just been my experience that if a company wants to operate a Forum for the express purpose of communicating with its staff/volunteers, they choose to bring that in-house so that they retain full control.

I'm not saying I'm against the idea of a Judges-only forum here per se, I remember the days when there was one here. I'm only saying that I can see the other side of it is all.

Regardless, the entire conversation is presently moot since there are no official judges or volunteers.

Apparently you have not been reading the 'other' thread where the implementation of an OP program is an impending doom like the Sword of Damocles.
