A few days ago I started a definitive versions poll for Thor. I'm going to try a harder choice, as requested, Wolverine. With so many versions out there I'm going to try to represent what I think might be the best 11 with an option for 12th as 'other'. Please vote other if you don't like the choices and be specific.
If I missed an obvious favorite here I apologize in advance...onto the best of Wolvie!

He hasnt been made yet. He'd need a trait that would allow some sort of autoregenerative type power.

Fantastic Forces unique all the way. It really shows what Wolverine is. Charge, high AV, blades, toughness and regen. I would argue that he should be a couple of clicks deeper with more toughness and always have blades, but an excellent version that is great for the points. I like the Sinister sculpt better, but the invulnerability, lack of full dial blades without damage reducers just doesn't work for me as Wolverine.
My perfect Wolverine would be closer to the FF version with a toughness/auto regen SP and some flurry with a full dial of baldes. Maybe even a charge/stealth SP because he is pretty stealthy until he lunges out to stab someone. He is a pretty simple and straight forward character and it shouldn't be that hard to come up with a version that everyone agrees on.

I voted OTHER. Why? Because we dont have a definitive version yet!!

Unfortunately, I'm still using the Infinity Challenge version as default Wolverine.
-Yellow suit
-Decent strength, but not overpowered
-plenty of Regen, blades, and toughness.
-X-men team
I can't believe that after all this time they haven't made a better default Wolverine. Second best would be Sinister (Although the dial is too experimental) or Logan (Although he lacks the costume and full dial of claws)

I'd say sinister is the closest we have.........but the next one(or two) should probably capture Logan better than what we have right now.

Sinister is probably the closest, but the 4 damage and invul just kill me.
I'd love to see one with special powers.

Sinster for me. Not definitive, but closest. Thing I don't like is the starting Battle Fury. I'm not the most well-versed Wolvie fan, but from what I have seen, I don't ever recall him showing up to the start of a fight already in his Berzerker rage.
But for me to love any future Wolverine, he's going to have be in his brown costume.

NONE OF THE ABOVE if joker gets to be 95 pts and Batman 120, then Wolverine should be at least 140

Unfortunately, I'm not sure a "great" Wolverine figure has been made yet. He should definitely have some special powers:
stealth + charge
B/C/F + Exploit Weakness
Automatic Regeneration
I'm pretty sure when these powers were dreamed up in HeroClix terms, the creator was thinking of Wolverine.

Personally, I think SHIELD Wolverine from Armor wars. To me, Wolverine should have Blades, willpower, flurry and regen. This figure isn't perfect, as I think he should have more regen with flurry options, but it is damn close.
Hopefully the next Marvel set with give a more definite Wolvie, one that shows his more berserk side.

I went with other as he has yet to be created with special powers and given justice.

Sinister one always works for me, but if i want a strong one i go with cosmic wolvey, tho he isnt a wolverine to me...

There isn't one, so I voted "Other". The closest is the Sinister U, but until we get a Wolverine with an Auto-Regen SP, there won't be a definitive Wolverine.

Sinister Wolvie is the closest we've gotten to a comic-accurate Wolverine sofar. But even that version wasn't reall spot-on. Hopefully we'll finally get a good 616 Wolvie in the Web Of Spidey set later this year.
Dial-wise, my vote is with the Fantastic Forces U. Charging blades with toughness that goes into regen is pretty much Wolverine; added flurry might've been nice, but I'm not too upset by it's exclusion.
I love the sculpt of the Sinister version, but that's about all it really has going for it by way of accuracy. Well, that and mid-dial battle fury. The powers are wonky for Wolverine (he pretty much just swings away with claws, he's not the type to notice a weakness much less exploit it) and the attack values are just too low.

Wolverine U - Sinister...
Surely the definitive Wolverine has not been made yet?

I thnk we need a new Wolverine and a new Cyclops that match up to the way they were/are portrayed in Astounding X-Men.

I've seen popular characters fail. Spider-man, Hulk, Superman, I remember when their versions were some of the worst pieces in the game. Every one of those pieces has gotten lots of versions, with some playable varients of some sort.
Somewhat sadly the most playable version of Spider-man is Spider-girl.
Both rampaging hulk and Greenscar are playable, as well as lots of variant Hulks.
There IS no definitive version of Wolverine in Heroclix. The shield, stealth, and 2 Days of futures past are all playable, but they don't very well represent the character.
Wolverine needs to have solid but not incredible stats that are stable, be long lived and semi-threatening the entire dial with the ability to heal himself, possibly passively in small amounts. No Wolverine does this, save maybe the Shield varient from House of M, and I just want a classic, yellow costume Wolverine that doesn't have a ridiculously big forehead like he's been portrayed to have lately, and I'm happy.
Sinister Wolverine is still our "best" version of him, and that is a shame. A mediocre piece when he first came out, he has been completely put to shame by recent close combat fighters. Gamora aside, Elektra is better, so is Iron Fist, Karnack, Karate Kid, Bronze Tiger, and my others, for a fraction of his cost. Even figures like SI Captain America, M-11, Gorilla man, and Sif put him completely to shame.
I want a Wolverine with 1-2 special powers that aren't over the top and are character accurate, indomitable possibly, and with a long dial that has consistent threatening numbers, at 80-110 points.

Because Wolverine has proven time and again that he is far better than both of them?
And while I'm at it, I think we need a better Dr. Doom. C'mon he is one of the PREEMINENT villains in the Marvel universe and the best thing we've gotten is that 200 point laugher? In my opinion he should be bringing down the house and be a real bugger to defeat because he always has something up those metal sleeves. Glad I could add something relevant to a conversation on Wolverine.

Wow, I'm glad so many people share my viewpoint here. There has yet to be a good representation of Wolverine. In light of recent figures like Gamora and Elektra, it's very obvious that Wizkids knows how to make a low-ish cost close combat giant killer, and that's exactly what Wolverine should be. The fact that we didn't get him in Avengers, M&M (yeah I know we got the zombie, but we're talking about 616), or Secret Invasion is an absolute joke. Wolverine's combination of powers, martial arts training, and lifetimes of combat experience should equate to a dial that is a major threat on nearly every click. I'm looking for an improved Sinister dial with the Avengers TA, Blades all the way down, Toughness as a trait, Indomitable, an Auto-Regen SP, and a Charge/Stealth/Flurry SP. Don't tell me that would cost too much after we've seen figures like the aforementioned Gamora and Elektra.

I think it semi-fair to say that Wolverine should be more points than the Joker. When you really get down to it, once someone actually gets into a fight with the Joker, the Joker's generally going to go down, hard.
Batman on the top of his game, however, is someone capable of taking out Superman or other high-tier pieces. Wolverine, at best, generally just survives things like that. I think a case could be made that the average version of Wolverine should be stronger than the average version of Batman, but that the best version of Batman should beat the hell out of the best version of Wolverine.

I fully agree with you. People love Wolverine because he gets the #### kicked out of him again and again and again, but then he keeps coming back for more.

That is one thing that I can't stand about how Wolverine is written. He has been around for how many years now? Has years of martial arts and special ops training and combat experience, but they always write him just running into the middle of a fight. They pit other characters up against him who often beat the hell out of him because he can take it and he is used as a measuring stick for how toucg a character is. I am so tired of watching other characters kick the #### out of Wolverine on a regular basis when he has so many years of training and experience under his belt. The first time the Punisher tried to take him down Wolverine should have cut him to pieces the way Daken recently did. He way too smart and skilled in combat to keep getting his ### handed to him on a regular basis by everyone he goes up against and to just run into the middle of a fight everytime.

None of the above.
IMO none of the wolvies ever made to date is a definitive version of the character.

Actually, based on the way the Punisher "The List" was written, even the Punisher himself says Dakken is not as good as Wolverine. Were it not for the Hood, and all the bad guys Norman hired, who were tracking him down the week prior, AND the army of H.A.M.M.E.R. agents attacking Castle before Dakken even attacked, the full health Punisher would have wiped the floor with Dakken.
My personal favorite Wolverine heroclix? Sinister, then the Fantastic Forces Wolverine, with Vampirisim. James Howlett with Vampririsim, a close third. These guys just don't die, but you gotta get them in close.

SHIELD Wolverine is still great for the points!
I voted other because I believe the definitive Wolverine hasn't been made yet. The closest thing we have to definitive is the Sinster U and I think that he is overcosted and overpowered.

Sinister U Wolverine!!!
I've yet to see a comic realistic version of Wolverine but if I had my choice I'd go with the version we saw as The Horseman of Death

I voted "other" as well, for pretty much the same reason as most everyone. the definitive wolverine hasn't been made yet. The auto-regen as a trait comment somebody made is dead on. Maybe a full speed charge -flurry-lunge sp as well. Or maybe a "this figure is not affected by poison" sp. I dont know.
As far as actual clix go, I like the sinister unique, the ninja one and weapon x.
the first two because I think they're fun to play ( I use the sinister one for my new x-force team.) and I kinda like the sculpt for weapon x.

This.
Likewise he should have BCF on every click & be able to use EW.
Somewhere in there he should also have Battle-fury.
Costume should be either some version of his yellow/blue with the shoulder pads or his brown & gold.
Until then I'll use the Sinister sculpt mounted on the IC Unique whenever I can....

Although the first tournament I ever played in, I ko'd him with Bob, the rookie moloid. It was sad.

I think that the EW is a little excessive. BCF enables him to dish out a possible 6 clicks of damage. Just because his claws are unbreakable, it doesn't mean that he should be able to cut through anyone for a possible 6 clicks of damage. Unbreakable claws are great, but if you lack the force necessary to cut through something incredibly dense it won't matter.
I really don't understand why everyone is choosing the Sinister Wolverine. I agree that it is the best sculpt of all the Wolverines and I prefer that costume over the blue and yellow although I really like the X-Force one, but the dial is the most inaccurate of all the figures made so far. The front loaded battle fury, invulnerability and 4 base damage just don't fit the character. The 10 AV is just bad too. The zombie version has an 11 AV and he only has one arm. Wolverine one character that deserves a 12 on the first and possibly the second click and I don't think that there are many people who would disagree with that.
