A question about Earthquake.
Earthquake
At the beginning of each player's turn, that player rolls two six-sided dice. If the combined result is 2-3, remove this Earthquake from the game: Characters without the wing speed symbol are each dealt 3 damage.
Since only the wing speed symbol is specified as ignoring the damage, am I correct in stating that characters with the reverse-wing speed symbol would take damage from an Earthquake that goes off?

No. They're still fliers; they just can also Transport and M&A. So, they don't take any Earthquake damage.
edit: ahhh, Northern Iowa, huh? GO, MICHIGAN STATE!!!!

i'd disagree since they do not have the :m-wing: they would take damage, does not matter if they are fliers or not, just like namor would take it since he is only a flier and does not possess :m-wing:

That's because he does not possess the :m-wing: symbol.
:m-wing-trans: is STILL a :m-wing: symbol, only inverted.
This is what I call semantics, but then again we know the precedent has been set with Shellhead and Indomitable...the Shield symbol itself does not represent the overall Shield symbol.

well in regards to :m-wing: and :m-wing-trans: was set with swing line.
a :m-wing: will gain earth bound where :m-wing-trans: will not.
If a card says "wing symbol" then it works on :m-wing: and :m-wing-trans: figures.
If it shows the picture, then it applies only to figures with that symbol.

but one can argue that one is wing symbol and one is inverted wing symbol.
there are not the same and the feat says that it need wing symbol.
if your going to ignore the adjective then that means that son of surter can work for fire demons.

I'm not ignoring it. That's been the ruling since Fantastic Forces.

SO the rules are the same now as they are in Fantastic Forces? Wow, whoda thunk. (Sorry for the sarcasm)
Is there an actual rule on paper anywhere in any guide that indicates this? I agree the ruling makes sense logically, but we all know that has nothing to do with it. Just checking.

There doesn't really need to be.
It says "wing symbol" the "inverted wing symbol" is still a wing symbol.
Look at it this way.
You have a Corvette. If I were to call it a Little Red Corvette is it no longer a Corvette?

Someone give me an orange tint. That's what I said initially
Just kidding, of course. I get plenty wrong that I should have the color pink.

Or to put it more poetic, would a rose by any other name not smell as sweet?

I used to have a Yellow Convertible Corvette, then I got married and produced a son....
We know call it a Toyota.
We know call it a Toyota.
That's an odd name for a boy. And I'd recommend not referring to you son as "it" with Mrs. Hot around.

A Toyota's a Toyota.
Race fast, safe car.

No, now it is a catchy 80's tune.
Anyone seen Sheena E lately?
Makes me want to watch Chappelle's Show again.
Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories were great.

Well, to be fair to the others, we did have the whole, "Surtur v. Ragnarok Surtur" debate...
And this means that SI Namor does take EQ damage, too?

Since he doesn't have the wing symbol and the card doesn't mention the flight ability... yes.
