I've been playing around with conversions for the first time ever (with some limited sculpting/painting). I'm not much of a sculptor or painter, but I'm trying to learn. I recently made these Ultron conversions and had a blast. They're influenced by the Ultron Unlimited story.

I realized when trying to sculpt Wonder Man's glasses and Wanda's tiara, that I need more sculpting tools than just an exact-o blade, needle nose pliers, and a toothpick. But I did my best.

Next on my list are the more unique Ultrons (female, Omega/Ultron-7, Ultron-1, etc.), then some of the new Nova Corp members.

I really like what you did with all those Ultrons.
I like the defeated heroe's stuff on the base. I did that once with a Kang.

Can't wait to see the other ones you mentioned.

Thanks for checking them out.

As for photo tips (I don't know how much this will help):

The backdrop and ground is just two pieces of computer paper taped together.

I used a desk lamp for an overhead light. Having a silver reflector around the light is good too for reflectiveness. If your shade/cone is not silver inside this can be painted silver if needed. Some times more than one lamp is needed if you want to reduce shadows, but the flash I have is strong enough.

I'm shooting with a DSLR with a shoe mounted flash and 30-200mm lens. Most people probably use a point and shoot, so good lighting may be more important. I use a tripod as well. This will work wonders especially for the point and shoots which may use a slow shutterspeed. You can find a small one for pretty cheap. Also, changing your ISO. The higher the ISO, the more brighter your picture, but it will appear more grainy. I tend to stay between 400-800 ISO when shooting indoors. If your camera has a manual focus, use it!

For digital cameras it is generally better to under expose and bump it up with whatever software you have (conversely, for film it is better to over expose the shot).

I hope this helps.

Yep, these are really rockin'! Female Ultron is on my list of "to-do's" as well. Great job!

As for dials for the next Ultron's I'll make, what would be good dials for these? Preferably with the robot keyword...

1) Female Ultron = Danger

2) Ultron 7/Omega = R Awesome Android + Alias

3) Ultron 1 = Tharok (SS doesn't seem right, but not many grounded Robots w/MC)

4) Ho Yinsen = ?

5) Ultron-15 = R Robotman?
