What is your Favorite Defense Ability?

For me: WILLPOWER

Gotta go with Combat Reflexes. I like getting up close and personal during 'clix matches, and CR is perfect for that (duh).

My least favorite is defend, but only because I'm not very good with strategies that involve clustering my figures.

Really depends on the situation, but Willpower is always useful.

I voted for ES/D, because I'm the kind of guy who'll slap on the Forcefield feat, park a dude in a bush, and make you try to shoot his 21 defense.

I'm surprised Regen isn't getting more love, though.

I love Impervious.

I used a Vet Monel to take down the HOT Thor.
Each one of the 3 impervious rolls was glorious. Rolled 6 three different times.

Willpower. ALWAYS useful. And it's on my fav figures. Batman, Moonknight, Deathstroke, Shade, Hawkgirl, and others. Defend would be a contender if there were fewer 16s and 17s and more 18s and 19s.

Uh...stealth?

Otherwise, I'll go with barrier, specifically of the double-variety.

I actually voted Invulnerability. A nice solid damage reducer that doesn't have that ridiculous damage roll-off. A 1 in 3 chance of not taking damage is helpful sometimes, but it's wild unpredictability makes it that much harder to use.

I tend to roll more than my fair share of 5's and 6's, I have witnesses that will comment on my Super Senses rolls, but Super Senses isn't a double whammy. Thor might not damage a Super Sense character, but a Street Thug still could.

At least with Invulnerability my opponents know what they're getting into, and when my opponents are my friends I'd rather not have them getting massively aggrivated (I mean, I still want them to lose against me...wait...).
:p

As a man who never hits his imperv, shape change, or senses rolls, I'll take Invuln. Cheaper than Impervious for the same payoff.

I gotta go with the obvious: Impervious.

Impervious all the way.

you made the roll and now i get to roll a five or six.......... missed it so i reduce the damage by two.... ok... what else you got???

Super Senses. I tend to get a good number of 5's and 6's, and it's cheaper than Impervious, which lets me run more Super Sense figures for every Impervious brick out there. Plus, it lets you avoid Incap, Mind Control, Taunt, and (most importantly) Armor Piercing. Annnnnd it triggers Takedown.

I'll take a team of characters that have a chance of avoiding an attack over absorbing Damage any day.

It's gotta be Super Senses. The chance to completely evade an attack is better than having to soak up the damage or other nasty effects from attack rolls. Well in my book at least.

Although I have to admit that willpower is also a very useful ability. (hehe a definite must have power for GL clix)

Impervious!!!

I think Stealth is the best (and most-used) defensive ability. My being able to shoot you and not (for the most part) being shot back at is just soooo special ! ;)

Since Stealth was not an option, I went with Mastermind. This power allows Dr Doom to meet all kinds of nice people.....and re-direct mutilple clicks of damage to them. Combine MM w/ Fortitude and Getaway, and Doom becomes as Doom should be!

Super Senses Vs. Impervious

Imp = you make the roll: reduce damage by two
SS = you make the roll: you stick your tongue out at the fool, slip the attack and....NO DAMAGE!!

Super Senses gives little guys a fighting chance against much more powerful opponents. Plus the look on their faces with Supes attacks with a heavy and some 75 point schlub ducks the attack - priceless!

Yeah - Super Senses...FTW!

I would love regen if I could ever roll above a 3.

I voted Combat Reflexes- I love the +2 to close combat attacks- and the ability to get the heck out of there if it's going to be an ugly beatdown.

Although, I totally forgot the whole 'ignores knockback damage' in a game last week that ended up costing me the game. Damn.

I think that Impervious is too easy of an answer, so that is why I said willpower. I used to run whole teams of characters that had opening willpower and it always left my opponent struggling to keep up with the actions. I could attack practically every turn while they had to rest up. The best defense is a good offense.

Hmm, really tough call for me. Personally, I love figures with blades and super senses(love my red powers!) but I also love regen as well. If you make a great roll, you are back in the game. If not, well you are a sitting duck. Sometimes a click or two of life is the difference between winning and losing and regen can give you that, and more.

I am torn really, but I am still going to say Super Senses. Have a lot more luck with that then I do with Regen.

Good point with all the Willpower comments, but Power Cosmic/Quintessence and not Indomitable work the same and let me use Super Senses.

Don't get me wrong, Willpower is AWESOME, but I don't use it Defensively. Stealth (while a Movement Power) is generally my most often used "defensive Power". Closely followed by Super Senses, Shape Change, Combat Reflexes/Energy Shield with Heightened Reflexes tossed on, and Plasticity with Entangle.

With the loss of Feats in larger tournaments, it'll be Stealth + Willpower/Indomitable more often.

Regen. It's a great ability to heal a figure who has been wounded, and sometimes you can heal back to full health. I like using figures like Deadpool you see. But the Regen has to be ideally placed.

Willpower. Really useful in terms of strategy.

Second choice would be Defend.

I gotta go with a tie on impervious and super sense, you gotta love evading an attack, will power is second, but a little over shadowed by indom.

Combat Reflexes. I love that power.

I voted for Super Senses. Back after Ultimates came out and I was sick of playing against Thor, I made an all Super Senses team including Dagger, Mysterio and a few others w/ SS & BCF. I played 2 games against Thor and he couldn't touch me! Dagger's Psychic Blast and Mysterio's Outwit took him down both games with little effort.

Thor didn't show up much after that.

Invulnerability helps for ranged or close combat. Also, it is cheaper than Impervious, and can be very useful on characters under 120 points.

Combat Reflexes.

It's not the best defensive power, but it's the most fun. I love that you can choose to roll with the punches and knock yourself back. It's just so cool.

Why no love for mastermind? It is a power I rarely use, and usually the opponent who has it might have stealth (Nick Fury) so it can't be outwitted. Having to face SI Nick with a horde of Guardsmen was Fin Fang Fooms undoing.

I voted for mastermind simply because when you can't counter it, your target will NEVER take damage. I want that Loki SR soo bad.
