Outwitting Giant Stride

Just wanted to verify that you can Outwit / Counter the Giant Stride ability.

The FF Rulebook only states that Giant Size can't be cancelled or countered.

A lot of players have tried to argue that I can't Outwit Giant Stride.. but the according to the rules, it doesn't say I can't.

yes you can. it does not say that it can't be countered or that its non-optional.
Most people think that they are the same ability tied together.
Like many people do not realize that flight and carry are two separate ability's.

I don't see why not.

Outwit lets you cancel any ability except team abilities. Giant Stride isn't immune to being canceled like giant size is, and is an ability.

Seems to me like this is another case of people bringing fluff baggage to the rules. It may seem like you have giant stride as a function of having giant size, but they are separate abilities entirely as far as the rules are concerned. The only connection they have is that they are both granted by the :g-giant:symbol.
