H-SHW Comic Book TOC: CAPTAIN MARVEL (Billy Batson) vs. CABLE (Full Power)

Hi all.

Its been a while since Ive done a comics related TOC, so I thought Id make use of the Power Scale Lists that we ALL had a hand in making, and set something up for us all to debate and participate in.

Pretty simple idea, 2 combatants engage one another on a completely neutral, planet-side, battlefield (ala Battleworld from Secret Wars) to Clash against one another, each winner (decided by your votes) moving on to the next Round, which finally a Grand Champion is crowned.

Hm, I think Cable's got more output, but Billy might be able to out-endurance him...

Not to mention out-speed him, though Cable did have a very impressive showing against the Surfer, and is more a soldier to Billys superhero.

Hmmmm this is a close one.

I think in terms of raw power I actually give the nod to Cable here. In endurance I give it to Marvel. The speed goes to Marvel too, but as seen in the Surfer fight, that isn't going to be a HUGE deal. If Cable can micromanage the damage prevention he did in that fight, he can definitely use his TK with enough finese and speed to help offset the speed advantage rather effectively.

DTM offers up a good point too, as I feel Cable is willing, able, and likely to do what it takes to win more often than Marvel would due to his experiences in the future.

I'm really torn here actually. No vote yet.

I think Ill break the silence (crickets chirping) to vote for Billy here. I think his greater experience with his H-SHW powers (as opposed to Cables relative inexperience), in addition to his superspeed and flight will allow him more wins than not against this Uber Cable. Captain Marvel for the win.

Does Cable have (and use) high level telepathy in addition to ridiculous level telekinetic abilities at this time?

I cant say for sure, but from the scans Q posted last time, I didnt think so (I didnt see Surfer overly struggling against an mental attacks there).

Hm. That makes this one a Helluva lot harder. You might be able to guess which line of thought I was following with that.

I'll vote for Captain Marvel myself, though by a narrow margin. Granted his inherent nobility may put him at a slight disadvantage, but he fights other being who have no compunctions about not holding back and he's wise enough (if he listens to Solomon) to know when he can't hold back either.

Cap's pretty durable on that side of things. I mean, this is an odd example, but he did stand up against a Thunderbolt storm over in JSA at least once. Yeah, sorta leaning towards Marvel on this one.

Kinda my thinking as well, Ill toss my vote to Cable.

I am going with Captain Marvel. He has a lot more options on offense and can take a lot more on defense. Cable has all of his eggs in a TK basket, and though it is a very formidable basket, I think the Captain has the experience and skill set to overcome more than 50% of the time.

Granted, my info is dated at best, but the only two times I've seen him use that as a primary tactic were in Kingdom Come and that one episode of JLU.

He used it in JSA, but no, he basically never uses it. So while he can try it, he'd never use it more than say 2-4% of the time.

That said, I'll vote for the Big Red Cheese. Cable should be able to beat him some of the time, but Marvel isn't a chump, and I'd take Marvel over Surfer as well, so...

Say 55% or so of the time my vote is for Captain Marvel
