Unbeatable 300pt team: TOAD-al Victory!

Finally, after weeks of experimenting in my cosmic HeroClix laboratory, using the most advanced team-building techniques (such as were used in the making of the "Why Thug is the Greatest Figure Ever" thread) I have emerged triumphant! The result is the unsurpassable force called : Toad-al Victory!
Here it is:
3x V Toad
1x LE Toad (Mortimer Toynbee)
3x R Harley Quinn
2x E Black Cat

I'll give you a moment to catch your breath . . .
OK. The strategy of this team is simple. Using the Harley Quinns' Perplex power, increase movement, damage, and attack on the toads as neccesary. Most of the time you'll want to up the damage (especially for Invulnerable characters). Use the Black Cats' Prob. Control to make up for the lowish attack on your Toads, who can use the Brotherhood team ability to rocket accross the board to your unsuspecting enemies. Black Cat can move for free as well, so use your actions to get the Quinns in position, at first. Then, you can swarm with Perplex-powered Toads, rerolling misses and crushing your enemies! Now, since this will no doubt be the team-to-beat at your next local tournament, get to work trying to devise a plan to stop it! Good luck (you'll need it! HA!)

I think this team is very cool, though it certainly could be beaten.... not very easiliy though. I think I will now take a moment to say how I love Toad. I use him all the time on my brotherhood teams. Anyways, I don't use dupe characters, but it is nice to see Toad getting some of the respect he so deserves.

As for SHIELD Snipers taking them apart... I think not. SHIELD Sniper range: 10. Vet Toad movement: 10. SHIELD Sniper damage in HTH: 0. The toads could pretty much just wait 10 squares away (probably out of LOS) and run up. They wouldn't even really need charge. Once based, the Snipers wouldn't have anything on them.

The biggest destroyer for this team that I could see would be barrier. Without your LOS for harley and black cat, the Toads would quickly be cut off and likey cut down.

On the other hand, while I think the team is cool, I don't think it is the best thing out there and I'm guessing that much of the winning is more due to your ability to play against your opponents as opposed to the team you take.

well, as anyone who knows Me knows, I don't like team mixing( marvel and dc) makes it WAY too easy to come up with low cost good teams that cover lots of everything. That bieng said, at least you got the guts to do something different, wich counts high in my book.

In truth, I've never played this team before. I just think Toad is funny and far out, and thought it would be good for a laugh to try and unlock their potential. I don't even have a Mortimer Toynbee . . . and the house rules I play with don't allow dupes . . . but thanks guys, for assessing the teams actual perfromance, since it is true that Toad can be a real killer in any team. Also, isn't "Toad-al Victory" a cool name?

See this is the type of thing that pisses me off. I go week after week and play and we have a very healthy and vibrant Heroclix environment. No cheesy teams. No brokenness. Now, this CosmicTom comes along and builds this team that threatens to knock the foundations out from under Heroclix ITSELF! Judges, if you are out there, please BAN toad. Toad-al victory and it's less aggressive more control oriented design Toad-al annihilation will be the bane of competitive Heroclix. From the little malformed man in his squatting (ready to pounce - like a TIGER) pose to the little frills on the little guys collar, this guy is pure cheese.
Cosmic Tom this is a game and we play for fun. Not to be overrun by the power that is Toad. Hope you are happy with what you've started.

One big problem with the team: No rookie Thugs.

I think Toad isn't bad for the points, especially if you add Perplex, but I have never won a game with him on the team, so I am biased against him.

Your next challenge: the Blob team...

I know that I have Spider Man icon but I am the DC clix fan... Marvel and DC mixing is NOT appealling . It is no better than reading "Superman vs Spiderman" DC and Marvel team up special. I would be sick to my stomach.

ALSO other thing is not appealling is use two same charcter in a team. I never read any Batman Decteive with two or so Batmans in the stories other than Joker s jokes.

If you want tp prompt the higher standard in the community. Keep it pure by not cluttering the purity of the game.

Love the team it's great.

For those purists out there you could swap out the Harleys for Vet. Doc. Oc. and a R. Vulture. You would still have one perplex at least. Or trade them for a Vet. Invisible Woman. Oh you want to hit a Toad, he has Def. of 19. Gives me chills just thinking about it. A varient on this would be a R. Invisible woman and a Vet. Doombot.

The only team that would give it trouble is a horde of Vampire lackeys.

But alas we have finally seen the cheese that is Toad. Never again will I worry about being ripped apart by Firelord. Whenever I see Toad coming at me again I'm just gonna forfiet. Wait a minute...I'm the only person in my clix group that ever uses Toad. And I do have the LE...yes I shall now rule the tourney scene. GenCon here I come.
