At a tournament today, my opponent played "Alpha Strike" for his BFC, which I was more than happy to accept!!
The judge, when he went through checking the BFCs, broke it to us that you can't use it anymore because there are no Arch Enemies.
It sounded good at the time, until I got home and checked my Players Guide, where the card is worded different.
Did I get hosed outta a bunch of points????

Probably...you can still use A.S. and score double points, per se. It doesn't really turn guys into possessing actual AE bases.

Indeed you did. As you already noted, from the player's guide:

The text of this card reads "Before the beginning of each player’s first turn, that player chooses a team symbol possessed by an opposing character. The first opposing character with that team symbol that is defeated is worth additional victory points equal to half of that character’s point value."

Alpha Strike has nothing to do with the Archenemy mechanic that was discontinued. The judge was mistaken.

Oh well. It happens. Nothing I can do about it now. Guess I'll have to start bringing a laptop with wi-fi (to check here) and my rulebook everywhere now.

Thanks guys!
