I'm excited for this series...Phoenix should be pretty proud of that team...'course I still want the Wings to school'm but hey...;)

I love how the Coyotes have played this year, this is a team with no owner, made up of ex-Flames and other jobbers that has come together to play some outstanding team hockey. I would love to see them take down the Wings.
Also I hope the Flyers lose the first round, just so I don't have to see Pronger's stupid face.
Some awesome game one OT finishes, hooray for Ottawa and Montreal, I just wish Los Angeles had stopped The Couve from the Canadian sweep.
Even though they aren't the number one seed Chicago is the scariest team in the west, Kane, Toews, Seabrook, Keith and Sharp are a scary group of youngsters, maybe even scarier than the gang over in Pittsburgh.
It will be interesting to see what is up with Ovechkin, zero shots in game one, a lot of strange falls, and his russian trainer made the trip over, that doesn't bode well.

Upsets a-pleanty!
I'd like to see Chicago get to the finals and lose because it would be funny to see that happen to Hossa a third time!
Go Canadians! It's my last spring in Montreal, and I'd love to cap it off by seeing my boys get near the Cup.

2nd period Phoenix / Detroit last night was incredible.
I'm expecting a Pittsburgh / Chicago Finals.
I'm rooting for Pittsburgh and the Avalance.

Who would have thought the Flyers would be the first team to lock it up? Not me and I'm a Flyers fan.
I'm quickly becoming an Ottawa fan though (at least until the end of this round)! ;)
<--Hates Crosby and the Pens.

Boo Crosby.
Go Yotes!
Unbelievably we conquered the Capitals... are the Pens next to fall to Halak's brick wall goaltending? ;)

Well, we'll see if history can help help out the Wing against the Sharks as I think that's the only way we can win this series.
The Sharks are major choke artists. Their logo is even a shark choking on a hockey stick. That is why I imagine the Wings winning this one, even though the Sharks are the better team on paper.

hahahahaha!!! love it!
I'm in Montreal - man this city just went CRAZY!!! We sunk the Caps and now the Pens... hahahah!!
I opened my window and went "YEAAAHHH" to some random guy in the street and he went "YEAAAHHHH" back and that's what this city is like right now :)

And now the last question of this round, can the Flyers be the third team ever to come back from 0-3?

It hurts so much more in game 7!
Beating on the Flyers isn't going to be nearly as much fun as the Bruins. :)

according to the hp he is a member of the national team but he didnt caught my eye till now. I just started watching ice hockey again this year so m atill a little out of the loop who plays where.
proud of ehrhoff, I met him in school we had a history class together, really nice guy back then (and probably still) and 20 years ago the canucks were my faves. so I was very happy to hear he got to the nhl and is playing for the canucks now
love the world championship, the german team rocks so far, even when they lose like yesterday they played a very good game

Looking like Philly/Blackhawks.
Montreal needs this game tonight. Need to change style a little bit and go more offensive. Defensemen need to jump into the play and get aggressive.
Hope Blackhawks win it all.
Luckily nobody took that bet lol. I've got my Hawks hat on and I'm ready to finish this season with the cup!
Montreal can pull it off. Twice they've been in a hole and twice they've crawled back out. They just needed to rattle Leighton (mission accomplished).

If there's one thing I dedicatedly follow it's my Blackhawks. I've been so impressed with their performance this season and can't wait for them to win the cup. I loved the way Towes looked at the conference cup like it was diseased when it was presented. Then again Chicago is a fairly superstitious city when it comes to sports.

Everyone in my town are Blackhawks crazy. Funny how nobody gives a rip about hockey, at all. But there are blackhawks shirts and jerseys EVERYWHERE right now hahaha. It's all good though - I'll root for Chi any time - so go hawks! And this actually has me watching a little bit of hockey. It's only about 5 minutes or so when it's on, but hey that's 5 more minutes hockey every got from me in my life.

I've been following the Hawks for a while and getting funny looks because I'm the only person I know that actually likes hockey, but now my roommates have me keeping them up on what's going on and watching games with me. This has actually made a couple of new fans though because we started watching the other playoff games and they enjoyed them. The Jewel in my town has a huge Blackhawks display up with shirts and anything else you can think of with the hawks logo on it. I'm just happy they're doing really well.

The Flyers just want to be the first team in NHL history to come back from an 0-3 deficit twice. Full disclosure - I'm pulling for the Hawks this time around, but I've got a Flyers jersey in the closet. If it were any other team in the finals, I'd be wanting to see Philly hoist the cup.

I mean you can't really call the series over can you? I don't know jack about hockey, but didn't the same thing just happen last year or the year before? Wasn't a team down 2-0 or was it even 3-0 and came back and won it all? Didn't Philly just do that to Boston actually? That's insane. Hockey is voodoo

Stanley Cup Finals Game 1 drew the best TV ratings for a game 1 in 11 years.
Game 2 drew the best TV ratings for a Game 2 since they've kept track ( since 1975 ).
Chicago is the 3rd biggest media market and with a break between basketball and maybe some residual interest from the Olympics they are starting to shine.
Hockey is awesome, the game is as good as its been since I've been watching ( since 1994 ). The trap was rough for casual viewers and the lockout didn't help either. The current system is pretty good, they just need to work fighting back into the mix and tone down the powerplays a little bit.
No offense but Philadelphia isn't coming back from this one. They'd have to injure Niemi and probably 2 or 3 more Chicago players to have a chance ( Bolland , Seabrook , Sharp ) OR get Brad Watson to call all their games ( ref that gave 10 power plays to SJ in Game 2 of SJ/DET and gave 5 powerplays to San Jose to 0 of Chicago in Game 1 SJ/CHI). Boston appeared to have 0 scoring or confidence once Richards blew up Krecji, plus they got Gagne back and it was a totally different series.
Chicago was kinda a fan wasteland since their previous owner was notoriously cheap and they wouldn't broadcast their games on local TV. They got high draft picks for a year or two and the cheap owner passed away and things have turned around ( signing players to really big contracts , games on TV , team winning ).

Pronger is such a cry baby for stealing the puck.

They are a sexy story. Rotating through 3 goalies that all got injured during the year, qualifying for the playoffs on the last day/game of the year because of a shootout win, and coming down from 3-0 in a series and game 7 for only the 3rd or 4th time in history.
It's great ratings and press for the game, but worrying about the refs is annoying, especially in such a great series: are they going to call it even next game ? In Game 6 are they going to "lead" it to a Game 7 ?

Chicago Blackhawks are the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions.
GREAT GAME ! Last 7 minutes or so of the 3rd through overtime was riveting hockey. The pressure was immense, and that's why hockey blows away all the other sports for me. That save on Jeff Carter was insane.

I think the Stanley Cup final will do a *lot* for hockey. As a league, the NHL was kind of wandering in the wilderness in the post-lockout years. You couldn't find a game anywhere on network TV, and hockey had sort of dropped off the radar as a major North American sport. The ratings numbers for the finals were fantastic - both because there were two major market teams playing, but also because you had some excellent and exciting hockey being played (the exciting being an important factor - two technically brilliant trap defenses facing each other to a 0-0 tie doesn't make the blood race).

I have Philly as the # 2 best team in the East (behind Pens) so they have a strong chance to go back the next few years. With a healthier team and a different matchup , Flyers have a shot to win.
Season starts up again in about a month. I'm stoked. Hopefully my 'Nucks can get past the 2nd round this year........................
Well here we are 2/3 of the way through the season, and my 'Nucks are on top. Not only that, but we've got the #1 and #3 leading scorers in the league. Of course, if Crosby hadn't been injured, he'd have been far far ahead, but still.
Could this be the year...................
