I have heard that wildcards cannot copy an ATA. Like the Fantastic Four ATA to use Sue Storms 19 Def for example. Where did this rule come from? None of my rules books has this in it, but i dont have any HoT or BaTB stuff either. Where did this come from and are there other new rules that I need to know? If there are where can i find them?
From the Player's Guide :
"Wildcards cannot use team abilities granted through feat cards. When copying a team ability, unless specified otherwise, they use the team ability from the Powers and Abilities card."
The latest rules document can be found at the bottom of this page (http://wizkidsgames.com/blog/2009/12/17/normal-distribution-rules-qa-121709/).

18DV is nothing to scoff at either.

It'd be great if there was errata allowing anyone with the FF keyword to use the ATA.

There have been hints/rumors that is what's going to happen. May have just been wishful thinking too. We'll see.
And Antiping: while the team ability isn't the greatest in the world (remembering to USE it has always been the hard part for me) the pieces are great!

18DV is nothing to scoff at either.
You can only get 18 DV on your Fantastic Four team with invisible girl being adjacent to a character. The whole point of the Fantastic Four Alternate Fear is so that everyone with the team affiliation AND wildcards can use the high defense value.
Unless I am completely missing something you said or everyone else is taking for granted.

When it first came out, the FF ATA could be shared by WCs. It can't now with that errata entry.
That said, the ATA doesn't require adjacency.

Most of the ATA feats that are coming out with the sets now use keywords and not existing TAs as prereqs for the feats so it appears they may be downsizing the need for wildcards.

Personally I'm glad for that ruling, but only because I didn't like what that ATA did to me. I was steamrolling everyone with all these wildcards and Thunderbolts with at-the-time-untouchable 19 DVs, and I was feeling more and more dirty every time I did.
However, unless you're gearing up for a tournament, I say House Rule it however you want.

and who's to say that KOing a FF team doesn't heal up those wild cards? After all, it's only alternate to them, not to the wild card, thus the wild card could potentially heal up FF members or likewise (assuming there's still one on the table for them to copy when the FF is KOed). Sure, you don't get the 19 D, but there is still something to copy.

Your team is:
Sue Storm - FF w/ ATA
Ben Grimm - FF w/ ATA
Spider-Man - WC copying original TA
Punisher - WC copying original TA
If Sue or Ben get KOed, Spidey and Punisher heal one click.
If Spidey or Punisher get KOed, nobody heals.

No you didnt waste ur money. You could run this:
Starter Mr. Fantastic 100
-Brillant tech 20
-Cooridnation 6
-ATA FF
Starter Thing
-Unstopple 5
-ATA FF
LE Sue Storm 100
-Coordination 6
-ATA FF
LE Johnny Storm 100
-ATA FF
-Nova Blast 10
LE FF Sue Storm 49
-ATA FF
Im assumin u bout the Sue Storm and Johnny Storm LE's if not then their Starter counterparts will do. All those FF will have a base defense of 19. and u can use Mr. Fantastics perplex to perplex LE FF Sue Storm defense up to 21. I have personally done pretty well w/ this team.

Seeing the new ATA's work on keywrod, there is a chance that a character might get assing two or more ATA's (and would have to if you were playing them because they have to go on all your characters that meet the prereq.) Do i just pick one to take precedence or is it like a Wildcard where i choose on an action-by-action basis?
PS:Similarly you can't assign a character more than one copy of any one feat card. If i play Captain America and Warbound soldiers and and play another warbound on Avengers, how does that work?

For Warbound, the rule about assigning feat cards stands - you cannot assign a character the same card twice. You would therefore be unable to select the keyword in question for the second card if it would cause an overlap.
For ATAs.... please hang on until the ATA info is released soon.

Don't forget the pretty decent lineup of She-Hulk, She-Thing, Crystal, and the often-overlooked E Spider-Man from "Mutant Mayhem". And the Power Pack is never hurt by packing a 19 DV either, if you're trying to keep things Modern Age.
It looks like the word is up on heroclix.com. Wildcards will be able to use ATAs again.

yep
Alternate Team Abilities: Alternate Team Abilities are now considered a different thing from Feat cards. ATAs are a part of the Modern Age of game play, though there are some differences from when they were considered Feats. Mechanically, ATAs will no longer replace existing team abilities – they will be additional abilities that the qualifying characters can use. As we started with Hammer of Thor, ATAs will be keyword driven rather than based on team symbols. What’s more, we will be going back through all of the existing ATAs and over the course of the next few months, making them available through print-and-play with revised, keyword-driven, additive mechanics. All of this requires some slight changes in order to balance things out a bit. As you’d expect, these pre-existing ATAs will be modified so that they cost a little bit more than they did before. Another balance will be that a force can only have one ATA assigned to it. Finally, wild cards will be allowed to use these team abilities, just like they can use any other team ability on your force.

Dang. If they keep the FF ATA similar but keyword-based, that brings SI Spider-Man and AV Black Panther, two of my favorite figures, into the Modern Age Fantastic Four Family.

But I strongly doubt this ATA will keep its 0 point cost.
