X-plosion? What X-plosion?

I can't beleive they are calling this an X-men expansion!

We have previewed Iron-Man, Elektra, Daredvil, Spiderman, Psylocke and Pheonix.

Only two are X-men. Plus from all the confirmed figures there are a very few X-men.

Where are Havok, Angel, Cannonball, Polaris, Bishop, Dazzler, Longshot or Rachel Phoenix? For that matter we could use Sunspot, Cable, Banshee, Sunfire, Magma, Chamber or Husk.

Well at least we get:
Gambit, Storm, Colossus


If this is THE X-men expansion the I would hate to see an expansion without them, of wait there is one, Clobberin' Time. And I don't count Nightcrawler because he is the only character I wanted and he is impossible to find (I refuse to pay $50.00).


I guess they want to leave figures for later expansions, but I predict an Avengers expansion next, after the next DC expansion or two, because there still quite a few Avengers missing (Tigra, Wonder Man, BlackKnight, Moon Knight, MockingBird, US Agent, Dr. Druid, Namor to name a few).

So by that logic it will take a few years before we see Havok or Angel!!

This was supposed to be THE X=Men exapnsion, so where are they!!

What I'm saying is that if you count the time leading up to IC being released and the two releases since it has been a long time since HeroClix has been around and a lot of characters that I want to play with are missing (I didn't even mention Excalibur).

I listed characters that are not on my pineapple and I can't beleive that this expansion does not have them.

Collossus is coming and I am excited, but not because he is a great character but rather because I am forced to settle for him.

Boom-Boom? Give me a break! We don't need another ranged combattant.

Iceman, Beast, Shadowcat. I expected them all to be there but I can't beleive an original member got excluded (Angel) for the likes of Boom-Boom and Gambit. Especially since the team is desperate for cheap fliers as support, not another 80+ figure that flies and can't fit in a 200-300 point team without removing another 80+ figure.

I just think that they could have made it an exclusive X-men expansion so we don't have to wait so long for figures that are mainstays.

Maybe I am alone in this thinking but I just wanted to get it off my chest

According to the "Pineapple", unfortunately there is 19 Xmen related characters, counting unques. Most I dont care for becuase I never really liked Xmen. Rather have spiderman or avengers. Most people want something other then all Xmen. Infact I wish it were like 12 Xmen the rest good stuff.

I don't know if I could say they had more villians, but yes, I know the FF have a lot. But still I think the point remains strong, that for the most part, it's only natural that we see more X related characters. I like X, but after Xplosion.. there's few I care about..

seems to me that this X-themed set has a lot more x-men characters than the FF one (CT) did for them. Granted there have been a TON more X-men over time than Fantastic Four, but the Fantastic Four HAVE had a ton of enemies, only 2 of whom (plus "generic" doombot") are in the set (Dr. Doom & Blastaar). Heck, there were more x-men enemies in that set, too than Fantastic four ones, and it was THEIR set!

Where are... Mole Man, Molecule Man, Dragon Man, Red Ghost, Psycho Man, Malice, Wizard, Trapster, Maximus, Diablo, Mad Thinker, Terrax, Impossible Man, Volcana... sure I'm missing a few.

That's not even to mention all the Fantastic Four allies (mostly Inhumans who, unlike Medusa, were never offical FF members) that could have been included...

Someone on another thread brought up the idea that the Inhumans could also qualify under the FF banner. I'm very okay with that idea. So, without getting into the "ringers" who have run with the FF for short stints (and the "New FF" idea with Ghost Rider, Wolvie, Grey Hulk, and Spidey was a three-issue fill-in marketing ploy, not a credible FF team), I'd love to see Gorgon, Lockjaw, Black Bolt and other members of the royal family show up with the FF team logo.

To this thread, I think there is always going to be X-Men in the sets. There's too many of them to not spread them out. I personally hope they stop at the Morlocks, however. Those were the dark times for the series.

Titania is married to Absorbing Man. I dont know much more beyond that.

Enchantress is one of the Asgardian Gods, and is enamored with Thor. I dont think she should have been his AE, that spot should have been saved for Loki.

This is just a generation-fan thing, is all. I thought the original idea of the morlocks was the last semi-decent thing Claremont did on his run before I threw up my hands and quit reading (I came on during the Byrne era, so I had a 3-4 year run with them).

Afterwards, I saw lots of the characters that I didn't like in the first place get more and more emphasis, and in the late 90's, get turned into X-Men themselves. I never cared for it. Always thought it was a bad idea. But that's just me. I recognize that there are X-fans out there who love the Morlocks. I won't tell anyone not to make the Clix, because some of them (I'm thinking of Shard, the one who could make boney spikes pop out of her body) would be pretty cool from a playing standpoint. I doubt I'd ever really field them. My X-men were the Byrne X-men, and after Xplosion, the only one that will be needed will be Banshee. So, for me, I'm tickled pink at who and what is in there already.

Speaking of that too Malice is a X-villian too or did u forgt that she was part of the Mardures. Ummm....fans who have been out of collecting comics for awhile? Seriously, I have been out for awhile now. Clix just has me now, after about 8 years, trying to find out what has happened to things. Mind you, I have no inteniton of starting to collect again, but I have been nosing around.

Until this thread, I had no idea why they had gone to the stupid Soldier X, Agent X, X-Static thing for legal reasons. I had just presumed it had been a stupid editorial decision.

Reasons why Dazzler shuld have RCE.
A) herpower is focused light, if u combine the speed and the fact that a lot of the time her photons where so bright tha no one could not be blinded by them for a moment.
B)She does it while on skates.
C) if a Shield sniper can have it then so should she.

First you say you want the original x-men, then complain because obscure ones like Magma aren't in there. And Magma was New Mutants, not x-men, so how in the world can you complain about Boom Boom and in the same post ask for Sunspot? I mean why don't you just go straight to the bottom of the barrel and ask for Chamber and Husk too while you're at it.

People just don't understand marketing, it's quite obvious, for the most part. All(Yes, generalizing, I know many do share my thoughts and opinion on this, if you do, ignore this. =p) Ahem.. All everyone thinks about.. is My want, My list ME MY I!! Gar!! Ahem..

This is how the sets WILL work:

Each set will contain hero's, for the most part, from each Good aligned team.
Each set will contain villians to oppose those Heros.
Some sets might focus on one team or another, but still, will contain others.
They will NOT pack all the wanted characters into any given set, ever.
In a '96' figure set, there are, without counting the different versions, 40 figures. About six or so of these figures will be common unknowns. Leaving us with relitively 34 named heros/villians.

Now, let's try to break that down a bit.
Let's give..
X-Men/BoeM: 12 of those..
Avengers/MOE: Another 12
Toss in a few Fan 4/Doom: 5
Expect a Spider Man: 1
Geing generous to you X/Avenger fans: Skrulls/Shield/Hyrda get the commons.
Defenders/SinisterSyndicate pick up the strays:4
Now, unless I did my math wrong, that's 34
And also note, these are team Related..as there will be some with the MOE(Like Spiral) Or some Unaff.(Like Mojo) That will still count towards your allotment.
(Also note: I don't know many none X characters, to an extent, so these numbers are a generalization, more than anything, I was being overly generous to the perhaps two best selling comic titles, in an attempt to still show them how few characters they will get, on an ordinary day.)

Better get used to it.

Anyways, any informed people that want to straighten out my numbers a bit, feel free!:D I know Xplosion is rumored to have 19 X related, but it's an X set, so I didn't use it as an average.

Sorry even if it is an X set there should not be 19 xmen related characters. Xmen is not the number 1 seller for comic industry. If we would go by that. Spiderman and Avengers are gonna have about 24 characters in it. Since both of them out do Xmen in sales. Its just not the way to go. It alienates everyone else that just doesnt want to see those guys. From a marketing stand point its dumb. Sure it wouldnt be dumb if this was Xmen Klix. But this is Marvel Hero Klix. With a theme of Xmen 19 is just to high of a number.

Yeah, it looks like you X-fans are gonna get the lion's share of X-Clix. Not that I'm NOT an X-fan (I have a couple hundred X-books stinking up the place)... but I was really hoping for a proportionate amount of Fantastic Four-related 'Clix in Clobberin' Time.

Thank sweet baby Jesus we got Reed, Sue, Ben and Johnny in the same set. Dr. Doom. Blastaar and Super-Skrull are among my favorite FF villains so I was pretty happy with that. I don't mind Medusa showing up, but would've preferred Crystal. And yay for She-Hulk (altho she was sooo fuggly that I had to repaint her). But outside of some Doombots and a Skrull who throws punches, that was it for the FF.

So by my count, another EIGHT FF-related dudes should've appeared. Like oh let me see if I can think of someone...

Mole Man, Namor, Red Ghost (+ Super Apes), Dragon Man, Silver Surfer, Black Bolt, Gorgon, Crystal, Karnak, Triton, Maximus, Diablo, Molecule Man, Hate Monger, Impossible Man, Kree Sentry #459, Ronan, Adam Warlock, Atlantean assclowns, Kree assclowns, Psycho Man, Quasimodo, Invincible Man, Mad Thinker (+ Awesome Android), Attuma, Wizard, Trapster... and those were just in the first 100 issues. Also: Frankie Raye/Nova, Terrax, Thundra, Gabriel the Air Walker and Darkoth. Not counting Galactus or Terminus. Or Tomazooma (joke there).

There's been a few quoted from the list.. and there is a BIG one.(Not really in size.. well.. sometimes..)

As far as Comics Sells go. I'd love to see the numbers on THAT one. :D A link to a Marvel information page or something? I can see them outselling a few of the X titles, but not all. =p But, if the numbers were presented, and shown such to be true, not only would I be surprised, I'd put Spiderman a bit higher on that list of mine. At the shop I work at. Superman and the Avengers get lost in the dust. =p There's SOOOoo many X titles.

As ridiculous as it is to talk of the NEXT set befreo the actual next ste is out - I'd guess the one aftyer X-plosion will be a Spidey set rather than an Avenger based one. The only Avenger missing is Hank Pym, as far as I can tell? (Black Knight? Really stretching it now...) and theres a bunch of fantastically lame Spidey villains (Electro, Mysterio, Rhino, Kraven, Rose..) as well as Venom, Carnage and the Scarlet Spider.

Who knows? I'm still pumped for X-plosion. :-)

Look u don't wont the entire hero clix game to be just X-men their r all ready too many as it is. I love the X-men as much as the next guy but come on. I still haven't seen a punisher he doesn't even have to be all that though just make a figure he can have perplex energy explotion and range combat Jigsaw can even be his arch eniemy. But as far as X-men go I DO want to c gambit Think about it he could have 3 lightning bolt on his range and a new power to double his targets if he reduces his damge by one. THAT would be an asome new power.

Actually.. I'm sure some people DO want just that! =p As silly a want as that is.. and unrealistic.

As for that power.. Umm, yeah it would be.. only up the cost for a figure with that power by about 100pts. :rolleyes: Anyways, Though it's not overly powerful, Pulse Wave is the power given to offer powers that hit tons of targets at once.

As far as too many X-Men? Never! But that really goes for everyone.. not just X-Men..I'd think it would be neat if we could have a little one inch figure of every character ever in the marvel universe. =p(Yeah, that's my Unique Two Gun Kid, isn't he neat?!):D

I have to throw i my 2cents first off X-men is the top selling Marvel Book every Month. For God's sake Daredevil wa out sell spidey a few years back and I know he never outsold X-men. And the proof of this is in Wizard magazine every month and in the fact how many X spinoffsare there compared to Avengers or Spdey? What is there IronMan(dismall sales), Cap(geting relauched again), Ultimates(came out after Spidey and X-men Ultimate), Thor(dismall sales), Hulk(getting better and better).
Spidey has what 4 titles? X has I belive 10 titles. All in the top 50 with maybe just soldier x, x-static, and maybe x-ulimited in the top 25. Yes I am a X-fan and yes I woud love to see more X-people come out in sets and I do understand why I'm not getting everyone I want all at once. But, hey I want like 20 different X people mad not counting the Pinapple people. Can't I voice who I would like so maybe that 1 or 2 in a set can be one of the people I want? As for doing spidey set I et it will be after the avengers set because I think the new spidey movie is due out in May of 2004.

You can take Beast, Captain America and Spider-Man off your list (they've been done), the LE of Yellowjacket - Rita DeMara - represents when she switched sides and became a hero and Jack of Hearts has been mentioned to be forthcoming. Allegedly.

You can replace them with Crystal, Swordsman, original Human Torch, Machine Man, Darkhawk (?) and...

I guess I am part of the "minority" who thinks that an X-men expansion should focus more on the X-men as opposed to the "majority " who think that because WizKids is releasing it, they must be right and we should all just accept it and buy it.


All I wanted to know was if any one else felt the same way. I don't think I should be labeled a whiner and lumped in with all the complainers for simply asking a question and expressing my opinion.
