What were you guys thinking when you scheduled the Xplosion Marquee for Easter Weekend???
I can understand why it can't be the week before (a major Mage Knight event), but why didn't you schedule it for the weekend AFTER Easter?
Granted, everyone that plays HeroClix does not celebrate this holiday, but a substantial number do.
I can't help but think money made this decision...
And with this Marquee so close (and already being advertised), how in the world are you supposed to get the *other* set of LE5s from Clobberin Time (Blaastar and Black Widow)?

What if there were HeroClix... in the eggs?

Here is the official reply...
"Hi Folks,
We spent a lot of time trying to sort out the best weekend for this event and, for better or worse, this is it. I'm afraid that Marquee events must be run on the specified weekend and that we cannot make any exceptions to this rule. As ever, your thoughts on this are appreciated but it's too late to reschedule the event, whatever the case. Our apologies that the timing is inconvenient for some of you--we appreciate the efforts you go to in ensuring a high and energetic turnout for your events and we hope that y'all can put your substantial creative energies to work in making this event a success.
James"
I guess their official answer means it sux to be a Christian HeroClix player.
Though I don't subscribe to any religion... as of yet...
My mother is a devout Christian
she believes that the figures are little demons anyways....

I think they just look at it as an abbreiviated [sp?] marquee weekend, I think they have to know most of us won't be playing marquee's on that Sunday, whether for religious beliefs, or just because venues tend to be closed on major holidays. That leave's Friday and Saturday.

Your mother and my wife. I think it kills her that our son plays too. She knows I'm to old to change, but there's still hope for our son according to her.

That's typically a family weekend for North America. It doesn't matter if your Marquee Event is Friday or Saturday when you have family coming in or you're heading out of town to visit Mom.
I am certainly not the most religious person around, but it IS a major holiday for a good portion of the globe. WK should have put more thought into this.

That goes without saying, but unfortunately they do alot of things without thinking (rules and game design!!!). Most of the time I think they make decisions like this on purpose, as they would say "because we can." Just like they made the great decision of turning down one of the only places near Downtown Chicago that applied to be an approved Venue, and actually promote their product. Oh well, I guess as they said on Saturday Night Live "who is the ad wizard who came up with that one???" (If your a fan you'll know the skit.)

The Marquee can be run on any day of the weekend.
Tell your local shop what day you've prefer to have it run.
I mean, be honest: you're not going to be praying to Jesus or dragging a cross through the streets or whatever it is you folks do every waking hour between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, are you?
So you are going to skip the Marquee that weekend FUNKY JETT?
By the way I pointed this out to a bunch of people the other day and they all agreed that it was odd, but not something that WIZKIDS probably would care about. I agree though it is odd that they picked that weekend to have it on.

With all due respect, if you don't like Wizkids that much, vote with your dollar and stop playing and purchasing. Bringing an unrelated topic into the discussion is also not helping things.
Wizkids does care, but they have to balance the Heroclix events with the other games they produce which have a rating system for their competitions. Heroclix currently doesn't (and I hope it stays that way.)
Please understand Wizkids is NOT out to personally mess up your life. They are making the best compromises they can, they even allow us the ability to use house rules in sanctioned play!
So basically, I say "Lighten up a little, it's only a game."
