Well, I'm working on doing my first custom map for heroclix. This first one is a public office for SHIELD (my favorite theme team to play). The link below is to my rough draft version. Most of the colors/patterns/rooms are there, but it is still just a shell. I need to add in some features into the rooms. This should all be done by some time next week. Since I'm still in the working stages, any suggestions would be cool.

This looks interesting, but it's REALLY claustrophobic. If you add any scenery/hindering terrain (and you sound like you're going to) this map is going to be really slow to move around on. Also those 1 space wide corridors are going to be heaven for stealth teams once objects are placed. And it looks almost exactly like the Hydra Base map I saw somewhere else.

But the idea isn't a bad one. I think this has milage.

The 1 square hallways are a bit small for a place like Shield.. Did you use any movies or the sort for inspiration?

True Lies, MIB are a few which come to mind, as well as the Hellicarrier...

Yes, it is a bit tight, and I did base it on some of the stuff I saw on the Hydra map (which I have printed out at home and like very much). It is a bit slow to play on but really opens up some new options for tactics and is a lot of fun. As for the 1 square wide hallways, perhaps I'll see what I can do about expanding the rest of them to 2 squares. And yeah, I'll probably add some hindering terrain into some of the rooms, but hopefully not so much that it would really unbalance a game.

Drashia:
I think now that the 1 square wide corridors may be a bit tight, but as for it being too much so for SHIELD.... This is supposed to just be a public office for them (mostly paper pushers), not an HQ, so I think it works out. The next map that I'm looking at doing for SHIELD would be a bit more open... And that it the Secret SHIELD base in NYC. Said base is in a warehouse accessible through a holographic wall in an alley (and third IS the Helecarrier, but I think that's going to be very large and I'll need some practice making maps first).

Here's version 2 of my SHIELD public office map. I still have a few cars to put in and a fire hydrant and things like that. Anywho, the final version will be much more crisp and I'll just be posting a link to a zip file, as the image is going to be pretty big. So... I did widen the hallways, but I also added a bit of stuff that can be considered hindering terrain. Back at my place, we're not considering file cabinets against walls and the urinals to be hindering terrain. Any other suggestions would be cool.
Next, I'll be working on the secret SHIELD base (the Manhattan one) which is an old warehouse with a holographic wall as an entrance in an alley. Any particular suggestions on what I should be sure to put in that one would be cool too.
