View Full Version : Why do DC Clix bases suck?

Unless a character in DC has an archenemy his base is really hard to turn. What's up with that? In Marvel they are all like the archenemy bases.

They changed the base b/c people kept breaking off characters, especially those with only one point holding them to the base, like Blade and Scarlet Witch.
With the new bases, you don't have to touch the character, but you do have to have finger nails or the ring. Some have said a 4 post square Lego piece works well too.
They are harder to turn, but it's a situation where you have that being the lesser of two evils.
I prefer the newer bases as the figures will now suffer less from wear and tear and as a side-effect the sculpts can now be more imaginative.

It's not just DC, Clobbering Time, and I'm sure explosion, Have those bases too. I new they would switch the bases evenually after i broke about 6 rookie and experienced blades. I just didn't think it would be in the next set.

A clicker ring or bar solves that problem.

There's a clicker bar? Where? What kind of drinks do they serve?

That's cool I guess. What do you do if you don't have a DC starter set? Legos like someone suggested above?

Use your fingers. It isn't that difficult. Besides the DC starter set map is cool.

If you're having alot of problems, and a dial is very stiff, pop the base and gently shave it down so it turns more smoothly.

or, you could just keep buying ic packs until you pull a version of scarlet witch with a little tab under her feet
Archenemies... How i miss you!
*drives a stake through the necromanced's heart, shoots him with a silver bullet, and brains him.*
Vampire, werewolf, zombie ... don't matter, 'cause he should be dead (again) now.

The basement really needs to be cleaned out, useless garbage keeps getting dragged out.

Seriously I end up doing this to most of my figures, SI was very bad for this almost every SR and play figure I got I needed to shave down.
Use a metal file, sandpaper ( which takes alot longer ), or a utility knife ( Be careful with the knife by all means ). And don't forget to check the bottom of the figure base as well as the dial. Plastic mold points ( The little circles ) very often have excess sticking off of them.

Do you really believe that the OP has been waiting over 5 1/2 years to get his answer? :cheeky:

I think the Avenger set made up for any DC set with bad bases ;-)
