According to the new wording for Pulse Wave, it dosn't ignore Team Abilities anymore. Does this mean you will take Mystics Feedback and such?\\

X PULSE WAVE Give this character a ranged combat action; halve its range value until the action has been resolved. Draw lines of fire to every character within range in every direction; these lines of fire are only blocked by walls, blocking and elevated terrain. All powers, abilities, traits and feats used by characters with a line of fire drawn to them are ignored until the action has been resolved, though wild cards using this power can use the team ability of a friendly character within range of this attack. At least one opposing character must have a line of fire drawn to it to activate this power. If ignoring a game effect would cause a character with a line of fire drawn to it to no longer have a line of fire drawn to it, then it is not ignored. If lines of fire can be drawn to two or more characters, this character’s damage value becomes 1 until the action has been resolved. Make a single attack roll and compare the result to the defense value of each character with a line of fire drawn to it (hindering terrain still increases character’s defense values by +1); each character hit is dealt damage. Attacks made with this power do not target characters.

It ignores all abilities... including team abilities.

Your team ability is an ability and therefore is ignored. Quebbster is right yet again.

This comment made me think of another thread I had posted a few months back about the Stealth granted by Batman Ally Team Ability not qulifying for feats because the power was granted by a Team Ability and not an Ability. Will this change?

LOL!! Has he ever been wrong? Since he's a human being, the chances are "YES", but I've never seen it.

This line of the rulebook :

"If a character can use a power or ability via a special power or ability,
it can be assigned a feat with that power or ability as a prerequisite, but
it must be able to use the power or ability on its own."

has been corrected in the Player's Guide :

"Page 19, the third paragraph of Assigning feats begins: If a character can use a power or ability via a special power or trait, it can be assigned a feat..."

I guess that's what you were refering to, right ?

Just when I thought I had it all understood that there were Powers, Abilities. Feats, Traits, and Team Abilities that could all grant Powers or Abilities, Quebbster goes and makes a comment like "all abilities, that includes team abilities."

If Team Abilities fall under Abilities, then it makes sense that stealth would be considered a "Power granted by an Ability", but as I undertsnad the rulings, that statement is not true.

No, you're right that a TA is an ability... and that said ability might allow the use of a power.

But the point of Drunky's post is that the current FF rules are misprinted in that section. Instead of saying, "If a character can use a power or ability via a special power or ability" it should read (via the player's guide) "If a character can use a power or ability via a special power or TRAIT".

Abilities just don't enter into the equation.

Thaaaaat's right. I knew there was a simple reason that answered it, I just got confused all over again.

So in order to "simplify" (read: Shorten) the PAC, WK/NECA is just causing confusion?

how so?
It has long been stated that Team abilities are are abilities.
The only confusion is where people do not fully read the PAC or Rulebook, but rather skim over it.

Also, lets remember, that New PAC and old Rules will not have 100% alignment. You might want to wait until you see how abilities are defined in the new rulebook.

The definition may indeed be simplified.

don't forget that you can outwit abilities...as long as it is not a Team Ability!

Commence confusion stomp!

other than Outwit specifically states it can outwit an ability other than team ability, not that confusing if you actually read the power.
