Hi

Our house caught on fire last weekend. All of my figures got covered in soot. Does any one know what works well to clean the figures. I cant seem to get the soot of plastic man's legs or unique wasps bosom and face.

Maybe a Q-tip with alcohol or water? If you tell us what you used also maybe it would be easier to give suggestions too. Sorry about your house. Hope you caught it in time before too much stuff got destroyed.

I realize that you're probrably dealing with a lot, but it's funny that it seems that your first concern is your 'Clix. That's dedication, and we salute you!

In other news, for soot try sponging with dry cleaning fluid or other grease solvent. Alternately, try Borax and warm water.

It does seem interesting now that I think about it. The only possesion I was actually worried about losing was my heroclix. Of course besides food and clothes it is the only other neccesity to my life.

Anyway I have been soaking them in water, using Q tips with water or soap, and tissue. Q tips work well but I think I will try some of the solutions you guys mentionioned on the Q tips.

Just be careful with the cleansers you choose. Something pine oil based (like Pine-Sol) will take off paint. Also stay away from things like nail polish remover or any other acetone product, as they will REALLY take off paint. I figure you aren't wanting to repaint them all once the soot is gone. :)

Wait... so you were just leaving your Clix LYING AROUND IN THE OPEN??? What about thieves? You must not have a cat, toddler, or people with big feet living with you, otherwise those figs would be demolished by now anyway.

After you clean 'em, stuff 'em in a tacklebox. They'll never be besmirched again.

Don't be a ****, protect your Clix!
