Has anyone heard that WizKids has launched a redemption program for the Clix points? I made an offhanded reply yesterday about the nonexistence of a redemption program for which I was led to believe that there is a program going now. I haven't heard anything about it and I can't find any information at WizKids' web site.

Someone is running a privately done program, allowing you to turn the points in for money towards his figures or something like that, but I don't believe Wizkids are doing a thing with them.

I'd be willing to trade of my points. Theres never gonna be a redemption program, and if there is it'll probrably be out of my Clix Point range anyway.

Hey guys, I'm the dude who was running the independent Clix Point Redemption Program. If you're interested, my URL is in my sig and my original thread with the details is right here:

Let me know what you think and make me an offer. Thanks.

Thanks for being that dude.

I'll check back later to see if your catalog of figures improves.

Taken from the Wizkids FAQ:

What are these Clix Points all about?
Thanks for asking about Clix Points. We put these on boxes for a promotion we considered, but did not run.

If I saw the thread you speak of, I believe someone said redeem them for starters and then sell them, etc.. That may have been confusing Clix points with the points Judges get for running events. We judges are compensated for our time in the form of points that we can redeem for WizKids merchandise. But that program is limited to normal retail items (starters, boosters, adventure packs, big figs) and specialty items for Judges (like t-shirts that say Heroclix Judge on them).

As people have started, there is still no Clix point redemption program, and it is probably getting to the point that they won't be able to afford one. I don't mean that they have financial issues, I mean that the program will get overloaded as soon as it is announced. There are a lot of hardcore folks out there who buy tons of stuff and save their points. I personally have over 800 Clix points. Now, let's say that they announce a program. To make it effective they will need to make the redemption costs reasonable. If something costs 100 points then you'd need to buy a case of boosters and a starter (48 x2 points + 1 x5 points for 101 points) to afford it. I know a lot of people who aren't at that level. So the program wouldn't matter much to them. But if they make it say 25 points (10 boosters and a starter) then lots more folks could get the item... but people like me could get 32 of them all at once! I doubt that they want to get into that situation.

But then you never can tell.

I don't think they should let you redeem Clix points for a free item, unless that item cost a lot of Clix points. But what if you could, say, buy an LE fig for $5 plus 25 points. All WK needs is a fulfillment house. Plenty of people would buy them who want LEs. WizKids would have a HUGE profit margin and another great profit center. Only those who want the figs will buy them. No more $40 LEs on Ebay. Who loses except the scalpers?? Nobody but cheeseheads go to our local tourneys any more.
