View Full Version : Crisis Chase Values Versus BATB Chase Values
How do the $ value of these figures stack up? i have seen divergent prices but around $70 per any of the BL Chase seems to the highest as thats what the online retailers have them priced at. With 4 chases in BATB and the set not sold out yet like crisis are the value of the BL's lower right now compared to an E2 or Hypertime crisis chase supes?
If you see any of the BaTB BL Chases at $70.00, please let me know. I can't seem to get one (haven't yet) for less than $80.00+
Crisis Chases are still really high as well. $90.00-$100.00+ I've even seen one seller that is trying to sell E-2 for $250.00 BIN on the 'Bay.

Based on a quick glance at eBay, most pieces seem to fall in the following ranges:
Nekron: $80-90
Black Hand: $75-85
Kal-L: $100-120
Martian Manhunter: $90-100
E2 Superman: $85-95
KC Superman: $70-80
There are outliers outside either end of these ranges, but that seems a fair guesstimate.

BATB upticked once people saw that BATB wasn't the suck that it looked like it would be. Still you should be able to find the figs (save Kal-L) under $100 easy enough. Kal-L runs about $100-120 now.
Crisis was a short-run set and either Crisis supes is probably in the 90-110 range from what I saw. Popular, "modern age" chases that are very good dials. So really, a BL Supes for either Crisis is a fair trade, though you might want to throw in a little extra if you are trading another BL Chase for a Crisis Supes.
The only BL chase that has gone for $70 is Black Hand, strange since he seems to be the rarest. I've seen 10 cases opened with the following breakdown 5 Kal-L, 4 Martian Manhunter, and 1 Nekron. no Black Hand. The prices on the AA and Crisis Chases have gone back up. I got both Superman figs for $115 and both Bats for $95 when Alliance shipped out chases with older cases. I'm glad they rebounded and have found a home back between $70-100. The great "chase rush" as I like to call it has dried up leaving most chases at a good value. The Zombies went back up which was great. I traded my extra Batman and Superman plus World's Finest for the 3 Marvel Zombies I needed, I believe I could have gotten all 4 but already had 2 Spideys so let him stay with his owner. When everyone thought Wizkids was sinking and abandoning ship I stayed aboard grabbing the treasure chest. I got every chase I didn't have in a 2 week period for half the price they're currently going for, or less.
Back to your question. I think you should be able to get Nekron or Black Hand for a Supes, theorically that is. First you have to find someone to trade with. Maybe throw in a super rare. There's a lot of others trying the same trade though check out the trade forum. You may have to be patient. I've also seen where it's easier to trade a Marvel chase for a DC chase or vice versa depending on the fan. Although Marvel chases haven't compared to DC in the past few sets. It's way easier on Marvel fans. I've seen the Frog and Thorbuster go for $40-50 on E-Bay. And not just a one time fluke or without cards.
miniature market had Nekron for $69 the first day and troll and toad had blackhand for $59 I dont think those prices will be seen again I wish i had bought them lol. Yeah most offers for my E2 involve straight up for a Nekron barring a few people trying to rip me off, but I want Nekron and Black hand for E2 and some other things like KC flash that i can throw in. Because you need 2 black lanterns to have some fun lol.

Here is a rundown of approximate chase values where the one's that are worth the most are at the top and worth the least on the bottom.
Kal L
Martian Manhunter
Black Hand
Nekron
If you check completed auctions then you will see that Kal L and Martian are worth about Crisis Chase + 1 tradable SR (+$10-20)
Black Hand and Nekron are worth Crisis chase if you add in a low end SR (+$10-15)
Things are very skewed because the set was just released and people are on the hunt for figures. This happens when a new set comes out, and people decide to pick up things for one reason or another. There are always outliers and the data is just an approximation.

E2 and KC FLash are nowhere near enough to land two chases. You should lower your expectations and try shooting for something more reasonable.

Yeah perhaps but i can still add things like SR black adam, U gladiator, U black bolt. KC Flash since the resumption of heroclix has a pretty solid value for a unique.
And who knows with more Nekrons and black hands being pulled maybe the value will go down. And when the next set comes out and the Blackest Night excitement dies down maybe they will go down in value, or maybe not but i think they will.

This is what happens with every new set release. The first month, you will see the price of the new chase figures sky rocket. As time goes by, the prices will drop and then stabilize. In other words, it's way more worthwhile to wait a few weeks than to start trading right away because people will ask for the moon and the stars in return for their shiny brand new chase/hard-to-get piece.
(Anyone remember when Unleashed U KC Superman was called "C Note" because it was purchased at a price of $100? Now you can get one for a much more reasonable amount.)
Personally, I have come to the conclusion that I am not gonna drop huge bucks on an item that will only depreciate in value over time.

I really don't think the new chases will depreciate as much as others. The Black Lanterns I think will stay in demand due to Green Lantern's popularity at the moment. They will certainly be more valuable than HOT chases. After having offered around on this forum for Black hand, I put your odds at 1 in a 1000 of landing two chase lanterns in one deal anytime soon. While you are waiting on a deal that involves 2 chases, everyone else is scooping them up in separate deals.
And when the next set comes out and the Blackest Night excitement dies down maybe they will go down in value, or maybe not but i think they will.
This is very doubtful. These are the only black lanterns out there and almost everyone wants them. Plus if they follow it up with some brightest day, forget about it.
