With Marvel vs Capcom 3 recently announced there's been a lot of talk about the expansion of video game charcters in clix form. Would you buy a Capcom set if it were ever made available?

I was just wondering if I'm part of a minority, or if lots of other players would like to see heroclix expand beyond Marvel and DC.

No thank you.
I am not opposed to the idea out of hand, I just wouldn't be interested in such a set.

I would absolutely buy a Capcom Heroclix set (and I know a few friends who would as well.) I would be especially interested in characters from the original Mega Man timeline [the Mega Man series, the X series, and the Zero series] and from any Capcom games that are a bit more "superhero-y".
Don't get wrong... I have no problem with characters from Street Fighter or Darkstalkers being in the set, but they definately wouldn't be my priority.
No for me. For both reasons. Not interested and I don't think it belongs in Heroclix.

Leon S. Kennedy in Heroclix form would pwn people in the face
Suplex: Give Leon a Power Action and make a close combat attack; a roll between 2 - 12 automatically breaks any figure adjacent to Leon.
That's right, he breaks your figure. Doing permanent damage to your chase E-2 Supes.
This does belong in Heroclix. If Superman and Spider-Man can suffocate every GD medium out there including movies, video games, books, lunchboxes, drug paraphernalia and so on. . . do the math. I Hate Superman.

I would like to see not only video games but also several TV shows. While I agree that they probably wouldn't have a place in heroclix, I think that revamping the action clix and the horror clix line, so that the games could be played together would be a good place to start. I for one loved Horror-clix but I was always disappointed that the two sets couldn't really be played together, I mean, common, the x-men vs a zombie horde or Avengers vs Buffy the vampire slayer and the scoobies, how cool would that be. I mean they could have differences, but share the core, and have crossover rules. Oh and I loved Mega man, but I gotta go with Street Fighter as the first set if they do one.

Punisher goes around and shoots people. . . he's not a super or a hero.
Resident Evil was full of people who went around with guns. Hell they could shoot The Punisher now that he's undead!
Did anyone play Devil May Cry? Dante is a super hero (and super flamboyant) in the sense that he gets stabbed a lot and is a bad boy and is. . . something something Wolverine parable.
Thankfully there are no Martial Artists in Heroclix . . . just saying.

Would definitely buy. Street Fighter would be awesome.
I was just talking to my brother about how they should do like a super smash bros. clix set. Maybe make a video game series of sets with emphasis on the corresponding sets' characters. (i.e. "street fighter: alpha" has mostly street fighter characters with a few mega man, super smash bros, mortal combat guys etc. sprinkled in.) I think that'd be cool, at least from a collector standpoint if nothing else.

Maybe. I wouldn't waste my money on a set full of figures I have no interest in.

The only video game characters that I'd ever want as Heroclix are Mortal Kombat.
I'd also like a Lara Croft : Tomb Raider as she used to be part of the Top Cow comic universe.
Capcom made Resident Evil right? I'd buy that. Not sure about the rest of their titles though, Street Fighter doesn't really excite me. Mortal Kombat maybe...

I voted no, belongs in Actionclixs,... but I would buy it,... just would not want it to be tourney legal with heroclix. :)

I wouldn't want any of those video game characters in clix form. I wouldn't mind if they made them as long as they came as a standalone product (not 5 CAPCOM characters I hate with 3 or 4 Marvel characters I'd want)...

I would certainly buy a Capcom collector's set. I'd love to play out Marvel Vs. Capcom in clix! Oh man, wouldn't that be so awesome if they did a collector's edition of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 that had a promotional figure from Marvel and Capcom based on the characters from that specific game?
LittleWoodenBoy

My main source of clix isn't through purchase, but trades. That Watchmen collector's set? I'm not going to get a single figure in it, simply because no one will trade from it, and even then, the figures they might actually trade out of the set won't be the ones I want.
A Capcom collector's set? Perhaps. I'd almost prefer a miniature set release instead of a collector's set. Just kind of have it aside as a pet project, almost like how Indy was treated at every shop I've been to.
I'm signed on to the idea in full if it at least takes from the full MVC2 roster. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_vs_capcom_2#Playable_characters) We'd get a Blackheart, Shuma-Gorath, some other cool stuff on Marvel's side. The other thing is, if they did it that way, I'd hate if they re-released old Marvel figs.
I dunno. I dream of a giant figure Sentinel modeled after MVC2's version. 10 range for Rocket Punch (I'd imagine 4 damage) kthxbai.

Personally, not interested in the least. There are way too many characters I want to see before they consider video games.
No connections for me, and so no draw. The only conceivable angle for me might be if I thought having them would draw in a new player I might be targeting, but even then I'd likely pass because I am only vaguely aware of most of the Capcom characters and am no more interested in learning about them as characters than I would be in Mario & Luigi or, for that matter, Hello Kitty or Strawberry Shortcake. I doubt I'd enjoy integrating them into games.
If the licensing and market polls were to show it would work for them, then I'm fine with them doing it, but I wouldn't be in the least interested in buying any of them.

Depends who it was in it I think and how well they balance their powers towards heroclix

My interest in this would be very low. The few capcom games I have played really never endeared themselves to me in such a way that I would ever want them in clix. I'm not sure if I can even think of a single character from Capcom that I would even want as clix.
I wouldn't really care, I suppose, if they made a collector's set, but I would probably not buy it.

If you are talking about Heroclix being for comic characters only, Tomb Raider, Mega Man, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, and I'm sure I'm missing a few have been in comics.

I would love to field Blanka or Sub-Zero in a game. I'd so go for it!

I don't think Sub-Zero is Capcom. That said, there are a lot of Videogame characters I'd like to see. Final fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Street Fighter, Metal Gear, and Breath of Fire among others. (Breath of fire and Street Fighter I know are Capcom)

While I think that it would be awesome to see Street Fighter clix, I voted no. I feel that Heroclix should be strictly comic book characters. Once you open up the door for something like Capcom clix where does the line stop? Different universes have different levels of power and abilities that just wouldn't translate and mix well with the super hero aspect of the game. I absolutely love Street Fighter, so don't get me wrong, but I would have to say no.
Light187
04/24/2010, 11:11
I'd rather see clix made from Mangas like Naruto or Bleach. I'd run a team with Kurosaki Ichigo, Kuchiki Rukia, Zaraki Kenpachi, Hatake Kakashi, and Jiraiya. I'll even put Vegeta on there as well.

The people who are saying "No" are pretty much similar the people who say "I don't collect Marvel" or "I don't collect DC". That's not really changing the fact that we get DC sets (personally, I collect both, and I know some of the posters who said "No" collect both as well).
I'm maybe in the minority here, but EVERYTHING should be clixed. I don't care what. Every cartoon, movie, comic book, video game, TV show, novel and clever photoshopped pictures and some internet memes should be clixed.
If you don't want them, don't buy them. There's really no need to stand in opposition of them, because I don't stand in opposition of Marvel or DC and I HATE Superman and Spider-Man. They're such useless and uninteresting characters TO ME.

I don't think there's much of a comparison between single universe players and people who don't want "Welcome Back, Kotter" clix. While I may not read one company's books or collect their clix, it's still all "in genre" if i face them on the battlefield. The same cannot be said if I put my Legion team on the map across from your team of the cast of Beverly Hills 90210 riding My Little Ponies.
Keeping things in genre is important, because I suspect one of the main reasons this game has succeeded for so long is due to the fact that it's the only superhero mini's game on the market. It's not a matter of "don't buy it if you don't like it", it's more "don't dilute the primary strength of the game". I know I play this game because it's a SUPERHERO battle game. If this changed, I'd go back to Warhammer.
It also does a disservice to the properties that you want to throw in for no reason other than that you like them. Street Fighter, as a martial arts game, should have a more robust fighting system than "close combat attack". I'd want to see mechanics where every character has the choice between a light/medium/heavy punch or kick on every attack, for instance, and the clix mechanics really wouldn't accommodate this.
Suffice it to say, I voted with the majority that says "no".

Nope. I don't much care for Capcom's button masher games. I have no objections to them being made into clix per se', but there are far more properties out there that have never been done as heroclix which are far more appropriate and popular. They should get priority over something like Capcom.

I think a Final Fantasy set would make my pants a little... damp. If I could put Cloud on a team I would joygasm all over the place.
That said, I can understand everyones reluctance to have something like that show up in their hero game. Cloud IS a hero, but not a super hero. It all comes down to why you play the game. Because its got the iconic comic battles oyu've always wanted to play out, or cause you really like the game and whatever characters come out in it. Nothing wrong with either stance. Just different focus's. I voted yes, but won't hate it if it never happens.

You would likely be playing a TCG called Ultimate Fighting System. For as little as it caught on, it was very intricate and well-designed.
In retrospect, I agree with MattMinus. Heroclix is the definitive superhero miniatures game. I hope this doesn't change. I mean, I liked bits and pieces of Halo Actionclix or Horrorclix, but I don't want any of the figures integrated into Heroclix (except where appropriate - thank you, Marvel Zombies.)

Eh, depending on the price and the selection, I would. If it costs a hundred dollars and is only Mega Man and street fighter figures, then probably not.

I could get behind it, but really because it crossed over with the Marvel Universe in a high profile crossover. But I wouldn't want to see, say, Mario and Luigi or the like. But if they're charactors who've worked with things that have been clicked I don't mind it so much.
And now my arguement will be used to say I want Archie in clix since Archie and The Punisher crossed over.

Good lord, I can just imagine it now. Ryu and Ken with combat reflexes and close combat expert. Megaman with running shot and energy shield deflection. Boy, I would so geek-out over these figures.

MK set will rule. And a chase of Darkseid with Shao Khan like MK vs DC will be awesome!
Ryu, Chun Li, Bison.... SF Universe mah.... i only want to c them just to break with Karate Kid.
But the Darkstalkers will be very cool.

In a world where I can get a Lex Luthor/Skeletor (from He-Man) to-pack at Toys R` Us, I think a Marvel vs. Capcom set would be WAY more reasonable (universe wise) and would include characters that, while strictly not 'comic book characters', would blend well with the game as it stands.

I wouldn't buy a set with just assorted main characters like Ryu, Morrgan, Dante, Megaman, ect.
I would buy a set that focused on one line, like Street Fighter, Megaman, Darkstalkers, Resident Evil, ect. I need people from the same series so that I can roleplay the battles. I don't want a Zangief and then just leave him in limbo, fighting against Spiderman and Captain America. He needs a Dhalsim to piledrive.
I picked Maybe.
I love the idea of having Capcom clix, GI Joe clix, TNMT clix, but I always come back to the same issue:
How would one figure be different from the next (in clix world)?
I think they would all have the same powers with different names. Ken's Tetsu maki sem puken and Guile's Hyper Kick would both be white powers with the same effect. It becomes even more 'vanilla' when looking at projectile attacks.

To be honest I would much more likely buy this then The Watchmen set. I care about more of the characters and I feel that they have powers that would benefit more from putting in dial form. I feel that watchmen characters, which are cool, are not overall the most conducive to click form. Capcom, even just Streetfighter, has a wide array of characters to work with, with all different types of powers.
