Yup, that's fine. Replace then modify.

I'm still hazy on how Perplex works in this scenario with the new PAC. Can you Perplex up the adjacent Amon, share the 18D, get a hindering bonus, AND get a ESD +2 bonus? Or would the Perplex be irrelevant?

currently it is irrelevant.
With the new book it will work since the perplex is not calculated untill the value is used.

Of course, the rule of 3 would kick in, so he'd only get a 21 Defense...

just remember- you replace with the unmodified value first, then apply modifications.

yes but! rule of three works both ways- you can reduce their defense by 3 and your ac increase by 3 for a 6 point swing! (toss in outwit of defense power and +3 to damage, get a critical, and off of elevated... >< perplex can be sick when abused. i love my DEO agents.)

i just need to get a ruling on Rule of 3 overall values... could you perplex Darkseid's damage up by 5 (keep reading) and then use his -2 to damage to make it penetrating, and reap the full benefit of 3, or do you have to perplex it up 3, have it capped there for a net of +1?
