I figured I'd give everybody's favorite watcher a try. I tried to make him powerful (while cheap enough to use in 400+ pt games), while maintaining the non-interference feel. Please tell me what you think. I'm especially curious how others would cost him. When I realized how similar the dial was to Metron's, I used him as a guideline, and then tacked on a bunch of points for the attack power, and various special rules.

Uatu, The Watcher
Team: Power Cosmic
Range: 8 :bolt:
Points: 240
Keywords: Cosmic

Attack - Observer of Cosmic Events: Give Uatu a power action to make two separate attacks against opposing characters as free actions (making two separate attack rolls). Targets successfully hit by this attack may only be given actions that require an attack roll, and may not remove any action tokens even if they are not given an action, during their next turn. The effects of this power immediately end if Uatu loses this power, or is knocked out.

Damage - Nullifier Orb: Give Uatu, and a friendly adjacent character, power actions. This adjacent character gains outwit, perplex, and probability control until the beginning of your next turn if they do not already posses these abilities. If there is an enemy character with the Power Cosmic team ability, Uatu does not receive an action token when using this ability. If the adjacent character has the Fantastic Four keyword, they do not receive an action token when Uatu uses this ability.

In addition to the general rules for colossal characters, Uatu is governed by the following general rules:
• He is not affected by Exploit Weakness, Force Blast, Incapacitate, Mind Control, Plasticity, Poison, Possession, Psychic Blast, Shape Change, Steal Energy, Support, or any ability, power, or effect that reproduces those powers or allows their use.
• He cannot be moved by Telekinesis, although he can be the target of a Telekinesis attack.
• He cannot be knocked back.
• He can be attacked by grounded or elevated characters using close or ranged combat attacks, and is adjacent to characters in adjacent squares, regardless of elevation.
• He cannot be carried or captured.
• He cannot use the carry ability or deal damage to enemy characters

Uatu’s base occupies 4 squares on a battle map (2 squares by 2 squares). He must begin the game with his base completely in his player’s starting area. When moving Uatu, choose any square adjacent to him to begin counting movement. He must end his movement so that part of his base rests on one of the squares within his movement range. He can’t end an action with parts of his base both occupying and not occupying elevated terrain.

Uatu can be adjacent to a maximum of 12 squares. He can attack and be attacked through any of them. Uatu can make a ranged combat attack against any character in range, even if that character is in an adjacent square. Lines of fire drawn to and from Uatu are not blocked by standard characters (characters with the :g-starburst: symbol), but they are blocked by giant characters (characters with the :g-giant: symbol) and other colossal characters. Blocking terrain blocks a line of fire drawn to or from Uatu normally.

I'd say thats a very good Watcher. The attack power needs to be reworded to be a little easier to understand. I'd make him 175-200, seeing he can't damage people.

Nice. That's a good representation. Sentinel Based Uatu with no direct interaction save for his attack power. Pretty well thought of. You might want to increase his life a bit more, but other than that great work.

Thanks for the input. At first I was thinking a point value around the 175-200 mark, and then I realized just how powerful that attack is...say you were to stick a little poison next to an enemy that was just hit with that, not only can they do nothing but attack (damn it would be cruel to base them with a mystic), but they can't even clear during their next turn. It's incap taken up a few notches. And then the immunity to all of those powers. It's like a built in Fort and Repulsor Shield.

I'll definitely try rewording the attack, and then bring down the points a little bit. Again, thanks for the critique. Thanks darkjacen as well!!

All right. I've reworded the attack power, and lowered the cost. I thought about giving him an extra click of life, but decided against it. I figured Rulk punched him out in one hit, and I've never seen a standard character do more than 9 damage in a single blow. 9 minus the two from imperv KO's him.

If he moves over or stops on an object, the object is destroyed.
I have to disagree with this point: Uatu cares to never touch anything, because it will be interfering. Then destroy something...

Hmmm...I'd tend to agree with you on this one. Fixed
