View Full Version : FMR Poll #5: How satisfied are you with the number of "generic" figures in TB&TB?

This set was released with quite a few more generic figures than we're used to seeing in the Modern Age of Heroclix. Is this the new standard? Probably not, but that depends on feedback from the consumer. Did you like having a higher number of generic figures in this set?

Having a few generic figures is cool. This set had too many for me.

I actually really like this number. It's difficult to get a useless pack. In the past I was lucky to get a booster with a single generic, but now I can get two or even three. It makes me feel much better about buying blind boosters than in the past.
Im slightly dissatisfied.....
What answer should I choose.
At a ratio for a 55 piece set....and the LE Vet Versions in set really are somewhat Generics...
15 is too many..
Thats 27% of the set
Even at 10 it would be 18% of the set.
With 8 AE remake Pieces 15% of the set
and 13 duo pieces 24 % of the set.
That doesnt leave much room for a real set
Not even counting the remakes 57% of the set is fluff with little room for substance.
While I am glad to get THE PARADEMON and the Sensei and I can appreciate Mademoiselle Marie, still its just slightly too much...
I would like to see about 9 or 10 Generics all in the Common slots and 5 or 6 remakes. The Uncommon slots should be strictly 10 to 15 New Pieces. There should be 5 to 10 new pieces in the Rare Slots and 1 to 3 out of 10 SRs slots with new pieces.
At least 30% of a set should have new pieces.
Counting Damian Wayne-Robin, Inertia, the Sensei, Philipus, THE Parademon, and Mademoiselle...this set has 11 new pieces....thats a meager 20% of the set.
There are more Generics then new pieces and thats just wrong.

Wow. We need a lot more votes on this poll before anything can be concluded.

Hammer of Thor had a good number of generics. Brave and the Bold had a terrible number.

I agree with everything you said. Having about 66% of the common slots taken up with generics would be fine. Heck, even 100% of the common slots dedicated to generics would be okay if they got creative with it. But the REV/repaints/remakes just didn't work for me. I like the pieces, and I think they are pretty darned playable, but the amount of generics just plain hurt the set on the whole.
I just hope that Wizkids is listening and this trend doesn't continue into Web of the Spider-Man.

I went with "impartial," but I'm more of the "slightly dissatisfied" opinion. I think it's great that we got Amazon, Checkmate, Parademon, and League of Assassins generics. I just don't think we needed two of each. I think I would have cut the Amazon of Bana-Mighdall (great idea to have it in the set, but I can't see that dial contributing much to an Amazon team that's already using all its objects) and removed the White Pawn and one of the Knights, leaving just one pair with the Battlefield Promotion mechanic still intact.
I love generics, I've got literally hundreds of them, but too many in this set. Sure, I'd rather have them than *useless* doubles, triples and quadruples of common named characters, but I'd rather have a larger selection of named characters in a set, than generics.

If you don't count the named pieces, there are 2 Pawns, 2 Knights, 2 Amazons, 2 Parademons, and 2 Assassins. So about 18 percent of the main set is generics, which, is a bit too much in a 55 figure set. However I am glad that these generics were made, we'd been missing some usable Parademons, et al. I voted Impartial

Way too many generic figs. There are tons of characters that haven't been made yet, let's get more of those.

I don't lik them taking uncommon spots. I hate getting packs that have four generics.
