A HO does 3 Damage when thrown in a range attack. It takes 3 Damage to Destroy an Object. Ergo, I should be able to throw a HO at another Object to destroy it. Yes?

So, did this get looked at? Can objects while held, be used to destroy other objects or blocking terrian? Because this came up again in the Fanasy League I play in where my E CT Thor only did 2 Damage but he could throw the HO he was carrying for 3 to destroy a piece of barrier that was put up, allowing his teammaate to go through.

Maybe you should ask your girls not to get so physical if they are causing damage.

Yes you can throw object to destroy object or wall.

Actually you can not.
Pg 14 of the rule book
"A character holding an object can throw it at a single opposing character..."

Which I was hoping to get it changed. Why not say "A character holding an object can make a single ranged attack" which would allow such things. The Hulk throws rock all the time to destroy other things. Just ask the Leader!

Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Is funny because implication is that original poster is pimp and objects are prostitutes! Ah ha ha!

I don't think that's changed, but I'm not that versed in the new rule book just yet.

Looking at the new PAC early though.
SUPER STRENGTH When this character moves due to its own action, it can pick up an object as a free action and carry it. The object must be either in a square the character occupies or in an adjacent square. If this power is lost or countered while this character is carrying an object, immediately put the object in the square this character occupies. If this power is canceled while this character is carrying an object, it continues to carry the object. When this character makes a close combat attack targeting blocking terrain, a wall, or an object, modify its damage value by +2 for the attack.

You could always still punch through the wall with the +2 granted from SS to make a hole in the wall. (not that this +2 is new)

I can honestly say that this is the first I've ever heard anyone complaining about this rule.

That said, where's the love for the Statue?

Actually, I complained about this back when the Fuel Tank special object was new. If you could target terrain with a thrown object, you could use the Fuel Tank splash damage to hit someone hiding in Stealth or to automatically hit someone with a high defense.

You can still do that in close combat, but unless you're a giant, you'll be dealt blowback, too.

Really? Because I started a thread about it in January. That post is the exact one from the other. I would have resurrected it, but it was closed.

I know you can close combat it, but that not my beef.

We are allowed to use the Statue in those Leagues. Standard objects only.

Exactly. So was Norm notified as promised or did smoke get blown up my :tired:. It's a small thing and comes up irregurally to be sure, but in comics it happens all the time.

May I ask why? It not like it effects game balance. Look at my example above. How is that game breaking? What if the Hulk held the object? He is the poster boy for object chucking.

Because it wasn't necessary.

Why change something that works fine as-is?

Because a HO when thrown does 3 damage. It takes 3 Damage to destroy anther object or a piece of blocking terrian. It is comic accurate to many characters to do this.

I believe you brought up E Moon Kight, who can't do either with his base 2 damage. He can first turn pick up an HO and go stealthy. Second turn chuck said object at a wall that seperates both teams, a SO that might have been placed to screw with his team, destroy a piece of Barrier that was placed in the way. It would give him options. Why is that a horrible thing?

So can I petition next year? How many signatures will it require for the rulebook to say "This character may make a ranged attack while holding an object?" That way he/she can target a character, another object or a piece of blocking terrian.

Talk to whomever you wish. If you go to the cons, make sure to hit up the WK booths and let them know, face to face, how you feel. Squeaky wheels do, usually, get greased.

What you may not realize is that while Norm does have a large hand in helping to write the rules (and we deputies, in turn, help him with said helping), GD is the final authority. There were some things we've dicussed that, for reasons beyond me, were not included just because GD just didn't think that was the way to go.

In other words, just because something does get talked about a lot on these boards doesn't mean it will be dealt with. It certainly can't hurt to talk about it, but GD does have the final say. It's their property, after all.
