Got an extra Metallo today at FCBD - decided he needed to be modded - my own spin on Metallo. Hes made from paperclips, hot glue, and very little green stuff - think he would sell on evil bay?

Thoughts?
I took pics in many stages - if you have questions, I can show you how to get the hot glue to elements of stylized position to make the figure.
Also working on the hot glue effects tutorial - should be done sometime late tomorrow night :)

O.O
Wow! just Wow!!!
Looks like quite alot of detail was lost between it being silver the final(?) black/green stage.
Pure silver it was at least on par with the actual BatB piece.
No, I don't think it'd sell on EBay.

It looks like a lot of effort went into that one, but the finished product isn't representative of that.
The silver looked better before the black/green. I wouldn't buy it on Ebay. No offense.

Oh wow! That actually looks great. I saw the black and green one earlier and I thought for some reason that was the final version. It looked pretty bad, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be rude. But the finished product looks terrific. It looks way more detailed than I would've thought possible based on the previous versions. I still wouldn't ebay it, but not because it isn't a good mod. I wouldn't ebay it because I would like to play it. ;)

Great effort for working with a tough medium. The silver paint really was a good idea.

Sorry, pictures are in the wrong order - silver was final version - not black and green. He was primed in black gloss after the green phase, and dry brushed - one sec and i will update

Silver was the finished product - I don't know exactly what you mean, but I guess the pictures were out of order :)

That's how I intend to use my (boring, non-modded) Brainiac: In a high point game, with a bunch of Phalanx Soldiers, being carted around by the Lex and Brainiac duo.

I think the pictures got confused or I am confused by your comment. Final piece is presently silver - I added captions to the pictures to equate out the process of the project.
Thoughts still the same? I am keeping him btw - I played a friendly game today, and my buddy played his Metallo - mine just looked far more fierce!
Thanks for the comments though!!

Man that looks great. Good job. Looking at all these mods lately make me want to start myself.

Oh man! for that duo, I made some generics out of Star Wars minis and Stingray bases from fAvengers LOL

Awesome. And with a design process like that you could work a lot of actual pieces of metal or things from other figures very easily. I like it.

Man, that hotglue looks damn hard to work with, but the finished product came out damn good. I look forward to your tutorial, as I'm dying to learn how to use hotglue for special effects.

I'm going to go with the pictures being confused because it wasn't obvious (to me anyways) wich was the finished version.
Wich in turn led me to the thought "Why'd he paint it black/green? Isn't Metallo usually silver?" - but then I also don't know every incarnation of Metallo.....
My thoughts are still the same though. Silver looks better, but not bid-worthy yet.

There we go!
I like the silver. Keep him and destroy the opposition!
That's really good! I like the way the glue makes the metal look organic and kind of molten, like it'e moving...
I think this would sell on ebay, just like your BL Batman.

I actually had a fellow realmser inquire about the batman and worked out a trade with him! So, I think I am moving in the right direction

Adding Shazam to this thread - I used Hot glue for the base, most of the texture on the cape.
