The FAQ states:

"This ability can be used even if the figure fails a breakaway roll."

Does this mean that a character with Avengers Team ability (or a wildcard Team ability) can move away from an opposing character even if they were to fail a breakaway roll, if they used their 'free' Avengers move? (and then gien the normal action token)

Or what *does* this mean?

thank you

This was to clarify a previous clarification which actually confused people. The original clarification said that the 'free move' could be used only if the character actually moved (rather than just use a move action like Barrier or Regeneration) so a lot of people wondered if it meant that failing to pass a breakaway attempt and thereby not actually moving would result in the attempt taking up one of the actions after all. This clarification was intended to let those people know that failure to move the figure because of not passing the breakaway would not mean that the player had now used up an action for that turn.

Hope this helps.

Well with Avengers, Brotherhood or JLA....

When trying to breakaway....

You first have to declare if you are using their team ability to move.

Once declared, you attempt break away as normal.

If it succeeds or not, it will still assign a token to this figure.

But, it will not count against your total alloted actions for the turn.

Does this makes sense?

Glad someone asked, I was confused there too. It should read:

"Move action is free as per Team ability regardless of breakaway results"

That would make more sense.

Man, this board is so darn helpful ;-)
