this gripe came from my friend last night, quite hilarious i know, but i kept telling him, think of it in gaming logic...it applies to ranged combat and that soaring characters do not affect ANY grounded characters...he goes, so superman can fly out 30,000 miles into space and a measly arrow of huntress comes all the way out and plinks him for damage, while his super-focused heat ray cannot even touch her...lol, i told him i know it wasnt logical but hey if it was in the game, we would all be toasted by teams of fliers, what fun would that be, and that it stated clearly in the rulebook that soaring characters interact with only other soaring characters, but he kept on ranting, lol

Any game that involves aerial fighters vs. ground fighters runs up against this problem. The only way to balance things out is to make flying units insanely expensive, or otherwise limit their use in the game. This STINKS as a solution in a superhero game, where LOTS of characters can fly!

This also doesn't address the problem of how Spider-Man, for example, can and does routinely beat up villains who can fly. Spidey can't fly, and therefore fliers should have the advantage... so, do we give Spidey flying? He might as well have it, so long as he's in Manhattan. But, no, this doesn't ring true... come on, considering how many people squawked about Super Senses, what would they have done if Spidey could "fly?"

...so WizKids kept it simple. When you consider the alternatives, I can't really blame 'em.

Well, you see, Huntress stole one of Green Arrow's super special FTL (Faster Than Light) arrows and that's what she shot Supes with... oh yean, and if she hurt him with it she just happened to steal the even more special Kryptonite dust coated FTL arrow. :D Now as for Supe's heat vision, the atmosphere was particularly active due to a Star Labs experiment gone astray, so his heat vision dissipated more rapidly and couldn't quite reach Huntress, who also happened to be wearing her asbestos underwear just in case. :D

Seriously, yes, it is all game balance, and yes, lots of things don't jive with real world logic. :)
