I'd love to be able to do this, from a mod perspective. Adding a lovely picture of a character after they are brutally murdered would only add.

I would also like for this to be made available.

I can see how this could get out of hand quickly (see the Star Wars Sign up thread for more info on that...), but at least the mod should be able to post pictures... Maybe make it so the 1st poster can post pictures?

As far as I know, the admins don't have controls with a "1st poster" variable. I remember when Typhon was going to try and do something with editing posts in this forum, making it so that only mods could edit the posts in their threads.

As for the Star Wars Signup thread, I don't see how that's a litmus test, nor do I see that as being terribly excessive. The key is to not stretch pages, and not throw a ton of images down at once, which everyone was pretty good about.

Surely a smart fellow such as yourself can see why posting 100 posts of nothing but pictures in response to pictures, back to back to back, in an attempt of "whom can be more witty", could be a little counter productive and frustrating in a mafia game...

And sure 100 may be a bit much, but you know 25-40 is certainly fathomable...

Take the preceding paragraph.

Excise the words "but pictures in response to pictures"

I give you Day 1!

I would love the thread starter to be able to do this.

Right, but like I said before, they couldn't even do this for editing posts. You should really abandon the idea they can do anything for thread starters, and just focus on what everyone can and can't do.

Yeah, that's a pretty good point. Although, frankly, I've embraced it for a while now. No real point in trying to force the square peg through the round hole.

I disagree that it would happen. Even 25. I can post pictures in any post I want, because I have the donor status to do so, but I don't do it all the time in mafia posts.

Oh so it's a donor level perk. I see. Then unfortunately I think it unlikely that they'll allow anyone to do it. I presumed the reason they didn't allow pictures was due to limited server space.

Incorrect.

In certain forums, like this one, anyone can use image tags, like this:

In all forums, someone with a certain donor level status, can use attachments, like this:

4392

The difference:

1. The attachments are actually saved to the server, rather than using the original for the image host. Image tags do not utilize server space in any way.

2. Attachments typically must be clicked on to be viewed in full.

3. As you just pointed out, only donors can use the attachments.

Well if they don't take up server space, I don't see the point of not letting people post them so long as it's not excessive.
