2 questions!
1. Leadership - is it just me, or does leadership suck? Usually when I play with my friends, we do a 400 point game, and I am using 4-6 figures. I "rarely" move all of them at the same time, and some of them get free actions because of their team abilities. I just feel like leadership should be able to take away actions from your opponent as well, or something cool like that.
2. For the amazons to gain willpower, they must be within 8 squares of a higher point valued amazon. Do I need to be in range BEFORE I more, or After i finish moving, to not take pushing damage?
Thanks!

Always quote the power:
Minion: Sisters United: When a friendly character with the Amazon keyword and a higher point value is within 8 squares, Amazon can use Willpower and modifies her attack value by +1.
WP is checked at the end of everything. This power would be checked as needed. (IE, when you make an attack, you check at that point for the +1, when you take pushing, you check at that point.)

Leadership is rarely useful anymore. On some occasions it can help (like in Amazons teams hint hint). Mainly its just for feats like Contingency Plan.

My SHIELD, HYDRA, Skrull, etc teams all strongly disagree with these statements.
While Leadership doesn't have the near omnipresent utility of, say, Perplex or Outwit, it is still an incredibly useful power. Even if you aren't running a swarm, the ability to take an extra action during a turn can be game breaking.
with the new age of generics Leadership can be useful, but not often since with most generic teams you will have a more powerful higher cost figure on the team.

What team abilities would those be? I know Avengers and JLA team abilities don't count move actions against your actions for the turn. Is there one that doesn't count actions at all?

Chief and Contingency Plan ask you to reconsider your stance on Leadership. Please? Pretty please? :nervous:

No TA allows free moves - the best you can get is a move action that can be given without using one of your actions for the turn. You also missed Top Cow and the Brotherhood

Thanks. If it's a question of, "Is there something out there..." I tend to think, "Maybe, because I don't know everything out there."

last weekend, my venue had a 10 figure, 600 points game. Namor's leadership gave me such an edge in that game even though i never used it- having the 2 (or one, if he did anything) extra actions let my contingency plan on The Red Hood reap the benefits so easily. Plus, Free action for Namor!
Leadership doesnt have much place for your team if you have a 1-1 or less ration of figures to 100 points. But! if you have more figures than you have blocks of 100 points, it starts to shine brighter and brighter, up to a point.
But while its not always useful, sometimes that one extra action lets you win a game. Consider SHIELD's Power Action- leadership gives you one more use of that where none might have been. Repositioning/carrying- sometimes you accidently over-extended, or maybe your opponent moved in. Maybe you got a crit failure to save your support piece. One more action might help you break away.
Leadership gives you options and a surprise extra gun in the enemy's face. Never turn down the extra gun. it might get pointed at you.

I said rarely not completely. It does have its moments, but not most f the time.

I disagree with even that "rarely" provision.
Leadership is one of the first powers I look for on any team. Not because it comes up all the time, but there are many times when I wish I had one more action and when you do need it, you REALLY need it.

I guess its just a difference in build. in 500 points I typically play 6-7 characters so 3 or 4 one turn, 3 the next. I have 1-2 actions left to push. So i typically don't need a 6th action
If you have 8-10 characters that leadership could break the game, especially if that action is an Amazon running someone through instead of clearing and geeting pwned by the same character it would have wrecked.
5 characters, never useful.

Leadership can be useful any time you have more characters on your force than actions.
