Im looking for any advice i can get on x-men team builds. I love the x-men but really dont have any good combos or anything to try out.

the best ive come up with is Psylocke (the one with enhance) hiding behind MM Storm (range combat expert plus enhance equals six damage). I know im a uber noob. lol 3

Btw when i say xmen i mean the series in general (brotherhood and such included)

And and all help will be graciously accepted.

Me thinks this should belong in the Strategy and Tactics thread...

Anyway, it really depends on what you intend to field. I've had loads of fun with Emma Frost and 3 cuckoos (Mind Controlling E-2 Supes to kill Invicinble, Batman and then Scarlet Witch :P) on a high point game, but that's just me. :)

The great thing about the X-men figs in general is that they're very versatile and cost a lot less than others.

A while back i tried using a team with Sam Guthrie LE, AW Psylocke V, Jean Grey and F4ces Wolverine. Throw in stunning blow, and heightened reflexes on Psylocke and shoot from afar or tk Sam around while he uses the transporter ability to harass your targets. They get too close, let wolvie enter the fray.

You can do so much with the X-men, you just have to figure which one of them to use first. Just remember they have one of the best tkers in the game, Jean Grey R, powerful mindcontrollers like the Karma, the cuckoos, Emma, and Prof X, great close combat pieces like Wolverine, X-23 (an absolute must have really), Colossus and a whole truckload of others that fill roles from Secondary attackers to support pieces.

MM professor x is a must in competitve games for the xmen
but mostly i go for the mutant keyword now days (giving me access to AoA jean grey,i swapped sculpts,)i still have an xmen team bu just with the mutant keyword.
normally i like to use the danger room storm with vet psylock thats 5 damage from storm at range and if they get close a possible (B/F/C) 6 damage from psylock for a tottal of 85 points !!!

For X-men you need Tk by way of some form of Marvel Girl/Jean Grey and then use Karma for mind control wrecking ball. other useful figures include Danger Room Storm, Vet Psylocke and Unique Longshot.

if you venture out of X-men into the general X-realm V Wildchild can be a monster tie up piece, as can Strong guy. Cuckoos can also be a lot of fun. MM Beast also brings a lot to the table.

at 300 I Like
31 jean Grey Rookie IC
45 Psylocke Vet XPl
40 DR Storm
66 Unique Longshot
59 V Karma
57 FCBD Wolverine

here's a 1000pt x-men-ish team I ran back when Mutations monsters came out, my friend lost to it almost every time

Sinister Unique Wolverine 94pts
+Protected 8pts

MnM Gambit 90pts

MnM Mimic 148pts
+protected 8pts

MnM Danger 124pts

MnM Professor X 131pts

MM Unique Longshot 66pts

Rookie IC Jean Grey 31pts

Danger Room Cyclops 40pts

MnM Vet Beast 73pts
+Brilliant Tactician 20pts

MnM Colossus 158pts
+Protected 8pts

total build 999pts

to be honest I'm not sure how well it would hold up today as both myself and the friend I played against were new to the game at the time and didn't really bother with things like tactics, all I know is that I went from a seemingly endless losing streak to kicking his kiester with this team, sometimes I swap out Danger and Beast for SR Storm and MnM Vet Iceman which also worked out nicely
