View Full Version : Custom Dials and RPG Rule ideas...

Hey,
I've been running through some basic "RPG style" heroclix where I'll play the antagonist and some friends will pick starting characters as rookie and play through a multi-game storyline while using points to upgrade to the exp/vet, or purchasing new characters. It's been fun.

Now, after looking at some custom dial stuff going on I was considering expanding it so that either a new (original) character is chosen, or a custom version of an existing character has a dial generated and printed.

Once the dial is in place, the game will play through... then instead of upgrading to experienced or veteran, they'd spend points to the following:

Add powers
Increase Numbers
Add Clix
maybe even purchase companion characters as well.

Once they spent the points the dials would be reworked and repointed as well as would be any nemesis villians that would be used across many games.

Anybody already so something similar? Any ideas on how points should be distrubted... I mean, in theory you could just say "You can upgrade/add anything to the character equal to the number of points you earned"... i.e. If they have 10 points available they could add a power or increase numbers until their figure was now +10 points. The worry I think i'd need help on is I've never paid too much attention to how the point system works, so I'm not sure how giving X amount of points would be a good idea each game. I don't want to give too much or too little. . .

Just curious what you think :)
